Who We Are: The Oracle Local Government Global Business Unit (LGGBU) is a brand-new organization that is in the process of designing & developing a suite of SaaS applications for the local government market using cutting edge technologies. Who You Are: As a GIS Developer, within the Public Safety SaaS team, you will assist in designing, building, and operating a highly distributed SaaS service with extremely high availability and scalability requirements. You will work as a member of our cross-discipline service development team. You will work in concert with developers to evolve systems/products for better scalability, reliability, and enable developer velocity. Emphasis on driving prioritization and execution of work based on business impact is a must. Mandatory Qualifications: Proficiency with ArcGIS or Oracle Spatial Implementation & Administration Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent related field experience Experience with Java, Python, or C++ including Object Oriented programming Ability to query and manipulate data in a variety of formats. Experience with Oracle SQL Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, distributed, scalable systems Aptitude to be a good team player and the desire to learn and implement new Cloud technologies as needed Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in two or more of the following Software development / operations Developing/operating large scale distributed services / applications Knowledge of cloud compute technologies, network monitoring, data processing and analytics Current GIS Certification Experience with public safety and/or public safety software applications
