Job Description

We are looking for a senior java developer and team leader to join the Counterparty Risk and Margin practice area.
The role involves working in a fast paced environment on varied projects from short term tactical enhancements to larger development initiatives that impact multiple firm systems and business groups.
The candidate will be working directly with key members of the business primarily in Prime Brokerage, Private Wealth Management, OTC Equities and FX but also with other business units in the firm.
The system is composed of several key components offering counterparty risk and margin calculations both in real time and for end of day reporting. The key technologies used are java for the back end, c# for the front end and a mixture of Sybase and DB2 for the databases. We also have a legacy stream composed of java processes, perl and shell scripts.
The candidate will be expected to participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to coding, testing and post implementation support.
The candidate will join the team and be part of a larger global team, with developers in New York, Hong Kong and Mumbai.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree (pref. Computer Science or related degree) or equivalent experience
Minimum of 9 years experience Java (Core, Multi-threading, Caching)
Java IDE (preferably IntelliJ IDEA)
Spring Framework, Spring Boot
AMQ
Maven
XML and Web Services
JDBC and JPA/Hibernate

Oracle - Relational DB principles using Structured Query Language (SQL)
Proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Microsoft Windows distributed computing
Basic skills with Excel spreadsheets and Word documents

Preferred Experience and Skills
Background in Securities/Banking/Financial Services
Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience working in a desktop Linux environment (preferably CentOS)
Experience working with an issue management system
