You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team whilst organising, planning and managing your own work.

We are looking for a senior hydropower structural engineer for our growing hydropower practice in the energy sector. We are involved with medium to large scale hydropower projects internationally.

A background in structural engineering and detailed design, as well as previous experience with a hydropower consultancy is essential. The candidate will need to understand the interaction between the various disciplines and be able to programme inputs for detailed design of hydropower schemes in a timely fashion and motivate staff around them both in the office and on site. The candidate must be keen to join a dynamic team working on major hydropower developments worldwide.

The role will involve the following responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the structural elements of hydropower detailed design projects
• Perform structural calculations and review the work of others.
• Lead design review including interfaces with other disciplines.
• Work closely with CAD and BIM staff to deliver high quality drawings and models.
• Support the design and development of new and existing hydro schemes
• Support in carrying out pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, design and specifications, construction supervision, implementation and commissioning.
• Project management; manage own projects when appropriate and be aware of the company\xe2\x80\x99s project management systems.

The senior hydropower structural engineer would work as part of the multidisciplinary hydro team alongside engineers of various disciplines and CAD/BIM designers.

We are seeking a candidate that is proactive, will take responsibility for the tasks assigned and is interested in developing professionally. The candidate should have minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in structural design of hydropower components such as dams, power houses, retaining structures, Power intake, surge shaft, HRT etc. with the following qualifications and capabilities:

Essential:

Civil engineering degree preferably Masters in structural Engineering

Experience in the detailed design of hydropower projects

Experience in the development of construction, DPR and Tender stage Hydropower project drawings

Should have worked with reputed engineering design consultancies

Ability to speak and write in clear English
