I. POSITION SUMMARY

Lead Electrical Design engineer shall play a critical role to deliver safe, fit for purpose electrical designs to an agreed schedule to meet a pre agreed budget which will enable world class execution of Industrial gas plants across the globe.

Lead Engineer shall have electrical design skills involving Substation design, Unit engineering, system engineering, procurement assistance for handling medium to large size projects.

The Lead Engineer shall play a critical role in the development of competitive proposals for new business opportunities.
The successful candidate should possess a bachelor\'s degree in, Electrical Engineering, with more than 15 years+ of work experience executing Large EPC projects.

II. NATURE AND SCOPE

The Lead engineer will be responsible entire electrical engineering and design of designated project for new plant to be built by Air Products locally and globally.

Based on the execution strategy the Lead engineer will be responsible for performing enguineering desing for BED, DED and proposals.

III. DIMENSIONS:

• Play a critical role in the development of competitive proposals for new business opportunities.
• Perform as a Lead Electrical Engineer on medium to large sized detail engineering projects, leading a team of 5-10 engineers/designers to deliver the assigned project scope within budget and agreed schedule.
• Responsible for reviewing & approving electrical design documents for assigned project.
• Safety and rigorous adherence to relevant specifications and standards for all Electrical deliverables.

IV. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Good Leadership, engineering, and problem-solving skills with commercial and fiscal awareness.
• Review & Approval of documents & calculations for Proposal, Basic and Detail Engineering like plant & building layout engineering, plant and building calculations, Single line diagram, schematics, schedules, various calculations, and 3D model interface etc.
• Review & Approval of Material Requisition, vendor offers, TBA sheet and vendor document for electrical items like PDC/Prefabricated Substation, MV and LV Switchboard, Transformer, Capacitor, UPS, Battery Charger, MV & LV VFD, cables, electrical bulk material etc.
• Review & Approval of various system study document like Load analysis, Load flow, Short circuit, Motor startup, Re acceleration study, arc Flash, Transient stability, etc.
• Co-ordinate for various vendor supplied system such as security, CCTV, Telecom,PA and Fire Alarm System.
• Review & Approval of Heat tracing system design.
• Effectively communicate by email and \'face to face\' AP\'s execution strategies, schedule issues and project requirements with various global, regional offices and other functional departments.
• Effectively handle proposal engineering activities, Man-hour estimation, Feed verification etc.
• Participate/work on department development activities.
• Provide requird Support to global team to prepare/update the documents for global business management system.
• Train and coach the new engineers and designers.
• Carryout Cold eye review / peer review of engineering deliverables prepared by other teams.
• Support development of electrical design strategies.
• Travel to site to support field engineerg, successful commissioning and start up of the plant.
• Participation in FAT for various critical electrical equipment.

V. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A Degree in electrical and work experience of around 15 + years.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication & Interpersonal skills is must.
• Experience working with review tools like Free View and SPR is desirable.
• Experience working with tools like SPEL, ETAP, SKM power Tools, Digsilent is desirable.
• Experience of working with various international standards like IEC, NEC, Saudi Aramco etc.
• Must be familiar with an engineering organization, the function of each discipline and interdepartmental interfaces.
• Experience in leading a team of 8-10 persons for detail engineering project and successfully executed at least 1-2 large projects.
• Participation in FAT for various critical electrical equipment.
• Site experience/coordination with site team is a plus.
