Job Description

: We are looking for Senior Engineer - Production Planning who will be in charge of developing production plans in adherence to the company's budget and deadlines. They should identify the production needs and set objectives and guidelines that would usher employees into achieving a smooth and efficient workflow. They must also monitor the progress of daily production operations, resolving issues when they arise. Furthermore, as a production planning manager, it is essential to lead and encourage employees to meet production goals, all while implementing the company's policies and regulations.Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of production planning and control and the implementation of associated control systems and processes, liaising with the sales and procurement team for effective long term forecasting with the firming of material requirements and balancing of the workflow as well as forecasting long term scheduling. You will liaise daily with the Production Manager, Engineering and Supply Chain team on materials and machinery availability. Produce and communicate daily production planning and scheduling plans. Plan and schedule workflow for each operational area according to previously established manufacturing sequences. Analyze and review lead times to reflect actual manufacturing processes. Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization. Develop production plan, budget and timelines according to production specifications. Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications. Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements. Assist in new product development and enhancements. Review BOM and master data as required. Conduct daily meetings to keep track of production schedules. Develop a Sales and Operations Planning process, producing data and analyzing sales detail as required. Produce department KPI's where applicable. Undertake associated projects - stock, planning and production, master data actions etc. Work closely with the procurement team carrying out forecasting and inventory analysis for future purchasing decisions. Hold daily production meetings with production areas and update KPI's as appropriate. Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications. Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules. Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production. Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production. Coordinating production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability. Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality. Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met. Compiling status and performance reports and submitting them to management in a timely manner. Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.Qualification & Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in any mechanical stream Experience: At least 5 years or more previous production planning / scheduling experience gained within a low/medium volume, high complexity manufacturing environment, along with proven success in improving processes.Skills Required: Must be computer literate in MS Office and Excel and have the ability to understand and interrogate MRP system. Previous experience in ERP highly desirable Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels. Experience and understanding of Kanban and safety stock levels. Ability to produce and analyze information, presented numerically. Required to show a willingness to question traditional methodology and make recommendations on new ways of approaching problems and improving existing processes. Required to have a flexible and adaptable approach to changing work schedules and business needs and remaining steady and reliable under pressure. Required to work conscientiously and autonomously and receives general guidance relating to job activities and objectives.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:
