ABOUT THE ROLE

The Scrum Master is a servant leader who helps the teams achieve their goal through constant coaching, mentoring, and smooth facilitation of processes. It is the Scrum Masters who ensure that the team is focused and knows the tasks they must accomplish in the time given.

The team requires the expertise, energy, and leadership from a Scrum Master to coordinate and optimise our ways of work as well as helping to build a structured and productive environment for our delivery roadmaps across various capability streams.

The role will report directly to the Service Lead will be accountable for coordinating sprints, PI Releases, cross team dependencies and ensuring effective planning and reporting for the service team.

Key accountabilities

Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily stand-ups

Coach team members in Lean-Agile frameworks.

Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration

Assist in conflict resolution and removal of blockers

Guide development teams to higher Lean-Agile maturity.

Help build a productive environment where team members \xe2\x80\x98own\xe2\x80\x99 the service and enjoy working on it.

Provide guidance to the team in assigning estimates and to split the tasks to be achievable in single sprint or increment.

Maintain JIRA or similar platforms needed for a distributed team to effectively work together.

Ensure cross-team dependencies are well-understood in plans

Assist in resolving cross-team impediments and blocking issues

Continuously work to improve team performance and productivity

Encourage team accountability, self-organization, and empowerment

Share common Lean-Agile practices; Facilitate Retrospectives which generate new insights for process improvement and present them to PM/PO level

Maintain relevant metrics that guide the development team to more efficient processes in their work and in satisfying their Product Owner and collaborators

Active participation and preparation for agile ceremonies such as Product Increment Planning, Sprint Planning, Refinements, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives

Publish sprint planning reports to partners during sprint start

Calculate team capacity vs demand and other metrics for each sprint

Host user demo meetings end of each sprint

Crucial skills & experience

Significant experience in a similar role with confirmed expertise

Evidence of working with innovative teams solutions that have a major impact within their business area and organisation

A proven record of change and transformation experience across a global, matrixed organisation

Well-developed communication skills, leadership and influencing skills, applied in a global environment

Aware of developments in the Information Technology marketplace

Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and vice versa

Desirable

Degree in relevant field or formal certification in business analysis practice

Lean certification and experience - recognised accreditations in either Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or similar

Experience of working in a global organisation with sophisticated/geographical context

Pharmaceutical business awareness/business shown experience

Cross industry business awareness/business tried experience
