Title: Senior Engineer - Systems Years of experience: 4-6 Years Location: Pune Job Purpose Statement As a Senior Engineer and Technical contributor in the ‘Cloud Recovery’ team you will be required to work in a 24x7 operations model and be responsible for working with Sungard’s customers in a collaborative and consultative manner to develop, document and implement complex DR solutions. The ideal candidate is skilled in virtualization technologies, back up technologies, managed hosting solution sets with acumen to stay abreast with industry trends in DR and Cloud computing. The candidate will actively participate in all technical discussions with customers and provide technical support/ on call support to customer related issues. The role will need to take ownership of the entire technical project delivery until the solution is implemented and tested by the customers. Key Responsibilities 1. Developing and validating solution architectures that will enable Sungard’s customers to protect their existing VMware environment using various technologies and recover the VMs in the appropriate RTO/RPO values. 2. Develop customer facing architecture and recovery strategy documentation. 3. Ensure a successful fail-over and fail-back of the customer’s servers during transition. 4. Actively and pre-emptively determine possible faults and ensure integrity of supported environment. 5. During customer engagements, candidate leads client discovery toward development of comprehensive, recovery solution architectures. 6. Candidate is expected to acquire knowledge and work across multiple platforms, operating systems, storage configurations, backup technologies, and network topologies and protocols. 7. Work supportively with colleagues, always operating in a collegiate manner and in line with the Company’s values. Technical Competencies (Experience and Knowledge) Operating Systems - Linux (RedHat, Fedora, CentOS), Windows Server. Basic understanding of concepts like Routing/subnetting, Load Balancing, Redundancy, Disaster Recovery, VPN, Firewalls, etc. Core infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), LDAP, LDAP Integration, E-Mail Servers such as postfix etc. VMware or any other virtualization platforms such as VirtualBox / KVM etc. Should know how to configure and troubleshoot VMware HA Cluster, DRS, Storage DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Snapshot, Resource Pool, VM/OVF Template, VM Cloning, P2V migration. Deployment of new virtual machines, VMware tools and VM hardware upgrade, understating of esxcli and vSphere powercli. Understating of vCenter operations manager and capacity planning. Solid experience with iSCSI and fibre channel storage implementations. Hands on experience working on replication technologies like VMWare SRM, Zerto and Cloud Endure. Hands on experience on deploying and troubleshooting AWS EC2, VPC, S3, Cloud Watch services. Hands On experience in VPN configurations S2S connectivity (AWS Direct Connet). Implementation knowledge of heterogenous solutions involving different products fromAWS marketplace using various implementation techniques will be added advantage. Experience building Primary and DR failover environments. Have a solid understanding of general IT Infrastructure platforms including networks, servers and storage.
