Work as Engineer in process department for industrial chemical process projects

Your tasks will include:

• Develops engineering studies, front-end loading (FEL) evaluations, detailed designs, and assists in developing cost estimates for industrial & chemical processes and industries.
• Develops conceptual designs and cost estimates for new plants or plant expansions.
• Performs engineering calculations and develops study reports summarizing results.
• Prepares mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, piping & instrumentation diagrams, equipment specifications, and other design documents.
• Reviews process equipment quotations, develops technical bid evaluations, selects equipment suppliers, and reviews fabrication approval drawings.
• Responsible for working with both internal and external teams to meet project objectives
• Participates in project meetings and design reviews and tracks progress of day-to-day commitments
• Supports the preparation of proposals, scope of work write-ups, and estimation of engineering labour hours and fees.
• Adheres to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm\'s Quality Management System.
• Participates actively in creating a safety culture in the office and at the project site.

Important Relations.

• HOD / Lead Engineer
• Works with other engineers in the project team within and outside Chennai
• Works with process counterparts in other regions

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Experience with Process & Instrumentation Diagram Development (AutoCAD P&ID or similar)
• Experience with Process Simulation Software (CHEMCAD or similar) is a plus
• Experience with Hydraulic Modelling Software (PIPEFLO or similar) is a plus
• Experience with Process Hazard Analyses is a plus
• Experience with commissioning, and process long-term operation is a plus
• Ability to cross-collaborate and work effectively in teams or independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to continue to improve and learn.
• Resolves or escalates issues in a timely manner; often involves project manager and customer

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you are person who takes ownership and responsibility for his / her deliverables. You like to work independently with least support from others.

Apart from the above qualities, to succeed in this position, you need the following competences:

• Master / Bachelor in Chemical Engineering
• Should have the experience of 10+ years in consulting, out of which minimum 5 years of relevant design engineering is a must.
• Should be a hands-on person able to handle deliverables as a doer and checker and able to manage stringent time schedule.
• Knowledge of international design standards such as NFPA, API, IEC
• Excellent in English skills oral and written is very important and a requirement.
• A personality with strong decision making & problem-solving skills with ability to motivate / lead others in a team environment
• Ability to work from home when required
• Willingness to travel to site in other countries as required
• To start in Ramboll in 2 to 3 months.
• Must be available to work flexible hours to support engineering projects in the United States
