Job Description


Job Profile: Manage, develop and expand the regional freight forwarding and logistics business, provide direction and leadership, responsible for ensuring regional profitable growth, identifying sound regional investments, maintaining satisfactory cash flow and market leadership, establishment of regional industry leading service standards and optimum utilization of business assets/human resources in accordance with the Country business strategy and local business environment. Main Accountabilities: Lead in performance improvement engagements and strategic customer interfaces with top revenue customers, ensure customer retention, development and growth of new business, drive issue prevention & resolution for key and strategic customers. Play an active role in supporting top level sales activities, being involved in large scale and strategic sales pitches. Enable and facilitate the provision of services that meets or exceeds customer expectations and differentiates DHL from the competitors. Provide advice/information to Country Manager on local business environment to facilitate business performance review & evaluation, scan the market to identify emerging trends and viable ventures/investment opportunities. Develop and achieve the regional business targets and KPIs in accordance with country business targets and KPIs. Provide leadership & direction to ensure the achievement of high performance standards that are consistent with regional & country guidelines, encourage & enable cross functional collaborations. Represent and promote DGF establish contact with strategically important government officials/agencies, trade bodies and the general public in order to enhance DGF\'s business opportunities, brand awareness and image as the industry leader. Drive country regional growth by leveraging synergies with other regional divisions & Business Units, interface with country head office and other country organisations/departments with respect to regional/country programmes, participate and support cross-business unit programmes and activities which promote business integration and growth in value. Manage the annual planning process to ensure all departments develop aggressive but realistic plans that support the agreed strategies, maintain or improve market share and service levels, whilst meeting contribution levels to the network, Ensure that the organisation is sensitive to emerging customer, market requirements and competitive trends to facilitate effective business planning. Ensure strategies and directions are clearly communicated and consistently implemented in all departments, Enable and manage the achievement of service performance that meets or exceeds customer expectations and differentiates DGF from the competitors, Ensure that appropriate organisation structure is in place to optimise business performance and achieve organisational consistency. Lead the annual business planning process, challenging targets and assumptions provided, Review performance and jointly develop rectification plans to address shortfalls, Lead and direct the determination of short and long term strategies and market approach, ensuring alignment with regional guidelines. Finance & Projects: Actively promote the exchange and adoption of Best Practices within the country to leverage collective learning and to improve consistency and productivity. Use of technology to improve customer satisfaction. Ensure the financial well being of the company from a legal, statutory and DPWN perspectives, set, review, and implement capital and revenue budgets, ensure cost control programs are effectively implemented to manage costs and ensure good capital and debtor management to improve liquidity. People Management: Develop a high performance service culture and team within the country that nurtures and encourages service excellence. Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance at regular intervals. Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department. Trains and develops managers for succession. Job Requirements: 10-18 years experience (dependent upon country size) in General Management of large and complex service related businesses in Asia. Preferably in the Freight Forwarding and Logistics business. P&L management & operations experience Experience in handling regional responsibility and close coordination and working with Asia Pacific regions.
