Introduction:
Purpose of the proposed role is to be the Senior Data Engineer for the Data Team. You will be involved into various Data Curation activities starting from data discovery, exploratory data analysis & solving business problems from an analytics standpoint. You will work with various federated teams in order to develop robust data pipelines on Hadoop ecosystem.

• Working closely with data scientist, analyst and understand requirements.
• Build data pipelines to collect, manage and transform raw data into meaningful information
• Good understanding of Data Pipeline building on Pyspark & Hadoop ecosystem(Hive,HDFS,Scala)
• Provide estimates & impact assessments for small / medium complexity engineering work.
• Interact with SME to gather information
• Study various strategy documents available within the organization

What will you be doing?

• To be the Senior Data Engineer for the Data Curation function especially specialising in building data pipelines on Hadoop ecosystem
• Highly capable of developing frameworks, Generic and Reusable components for the Data Curation team using Python,Spark and Scala.
• To create standard practices and procedures for all the developer community.
• To deliver high quality mi and visualisation from engineering function.

What we’re looking for:

• Hands on experience on Feature Engineering / Extraction for ML Projects
• Good understanding of Data Science projects
• Should have experience in creating generic frameworks for data pipeline using Spark / Scala / Python
• Experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ability to build effective internal relationships and collaborate effectively across global teams
• Must have experience of working in an IT project environment and an understanding of IT and business strategies and data governance.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Relevant years of experience – 6 years or more.
Skills that will help you in the role:

• Can work independently with minimum supervision and help the development team on technical expertise.
• Pioneering - High level of initiative/innovation
• Flexible and adaptable working style to work with multiple stakeholders
• Cloud knowledge would be added advantage
• Understanding of MI, Machine learning technologies and solution will be good but optional.
