WSP is seeking experienced and commercially-focused Process Safety Engineers to join our rapidly growing team to support our strategic growth plans. Responsibilities

The delivery of technical process safety related work across a range of sectors including chemicals, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, power, food, and beverage

  • Facilitating, or leading, process safety risk assessments and studies
  • The development, implementation, and auditing of process safety management systems, including due diligence assessments
  • Supporting the preparation of Hazard Substance Consent applications and COMAH Safety Reports/Offshore Safety Cases,
  • Supporting in business development and identification of new leads for our Process Safety service.
Key Competencies / Skills

Significant experience of managing process safety, gained within the onshore/offshore oil and gas, chemical, nuclear or other high hazard sectors either within an operating company, as a regulator or a consultant.
  • A relevant technical degree (ideally in Chemical Engineering) with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Chartered Engineer status with membership of a relevant professional body (ideally MIChemE)
  • A strong understanding of process safety related risk assessment methodologies and standards (such as HAZID, PHR, LOPA, FMEA, PSM, HAZOP, PHA, DSEAR, FERA, Occupied Buildings, Bowtie Assessments, Hazardous Area Classification, Major Accidents & Disasters, QRA), and experience of their practical application, including leading or participating in studies.
  • Good knowledge of applicable Health & Safety Law and engineering codes and standards
  • Strong written/presentation skills to enable the clear and concise communication of results and recommendations to senior client leads.
Qualifications:

A relevant technical degree (ideally in Chemical Engineering) with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
