Reporting to the Director, Payroll & Benefits Operations based in Toronto, the Senior Analyst, Payroll & Benefits Operations will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of Mumbai and Sydney payrolls, including yearend activities and reconciliation of benefits and pension. In addition, the Senior Analyst will be also involved with activities supporting other Global payrolls as assigned (e.g., Hong Kong, United Kingdom, USA etc.).

Role Specific Accountabilities

Payroll & Benefits responsibility:
  • Responsible for daily, ad-hoc and year-end payroll, benefits and pension operations to ensure they are performed timely and accurately in accordance with the statutory requirements and company policies and practices
  • Assist in tax related issues and responsible for employer\xe2\x80\x99s tax filings and statutory pension and labour law reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, clarify the gap between payroll reports and account ledgers, support annual payroll audits
  • Main point of contact for all payroll related inquiries from India & Australia and support other regions as assigned
  • Prepare compensation yearend payroll and special payrolls which can include retroactive and incentive payments
  • Research and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations in respective countries
  • Support other payroll team members with projects, compliance, reporting as assigned
  • Hands on delivery of various annual payroll and benefit statuary filings and support audit and tax requests and reporting as needed
General responsibility:
  • Participate in projects related to payroll and benefits process improvements and systems implementations by defining requirements, preparing test plans and documenting test results
  • Document and maintain business user guides for various systems, including training material
  • Look for efficiency gains in existing processes and work with various colleagues across Talent to implement changes
  • Support vendor management and work with vendor resources to deliver multiple stakeholders needs
  • Support questions received in by employees in a timely manner
Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have 4+ years experience in India payroll; other international payroll exposure to Australia, Hong Kong, United Kingdom will be an asset.

Other position requirements:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Very detailed oriented with a superior track record of achieving high quality results
  • Good communication skills in English - both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to maintain sensitive and highly confidential information
  • Advanced Excel skills for reporting, metrics and data validation
  • Proficiency with various payroll software and programs, including iHCM, ADP Streamline, and Workday is considered an asset
  • Ability to clearly define and articulate requirements, priorities, impacts, and solutions
  • Collaborate across the organization and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to think \xe2\x80\x98outside the box\xe2\x80\x98
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships at all levels internally and with external partner
  • Continuous improvement mindset - able to identify opportunities, take initiative and think through future implications
