Introduction:

  • Working in partnership with internal stakeholders including other SAM colleagues, Finance and Credit Risk colleagues and, on occasion FLOD colleagues to consistently provide an excellent level of service whilst undertaking the following activities:
  • Support the delivery of IFRS 9 to SAM and supporting senior management with Impairment and Forbearance oversight and reporting for Barclays International.
  • Undertaking various controls activities to maintain a robust governance framework within SAM
  • Supporting SAM Deal Teams by undertaking various administrative tasks necessary for the successful management of SAM names from adoption to case closure
  • Supporting senior colleagues and participation in the delivery of projects and ad hoc information requests, including those where SAM contributes as part of the Group.


What will you be doing?
  • Management of analysis and review for BI portfolios, working both independently as well as with senior team members on assigned projects. This include analysis on Watch List, Forbearance, Default and Impairment trends.
  • Preparation of reports and presentation to senior risk management, audit, regulatory reporting, Finance, and other internal groups.
  • Support and work with the SAM Deal Teams to ensure necessary administrative activities are performed for cases adopted into the SAM portfolio. This will include undertaking the necessary notifications and system updates required to ensure that a name is recorded as being part of the SAM portfolio, ongoing maintenance of relevant credit risk systems and other ad hoc administrative tasks required depending on the particular circumstances of the case.
  • Assist with the review and testing of the SAM controls including SOX controls, testing of certain controls and recording of results.
  • Participation in and contribution to a range of internal and Group projects which the team supports from time to time.


What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or foreign equivalent preferable, but not essential.
  • Credit and risk management experience (or equivalent commercial experience)
  • Strong background in financial analysis and an ability to understand the drivers behind model driven results
  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation and energy, the ability to drive for results, and a track record of setting and achieving goals and meeting schedules.
  • Possess the presence, maturity, and credibility to present effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management and relationship skills, excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Effective time management and a proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Team player.
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Experience of working with corporate clients and/or knowledge of financing products and services used by Investment and Corporate Banking clients
  • Experience of operating controls and drawing conclusions from the outcome
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to manage expectations, challenging upwards if necessary.
  • Ability to use initiative and to work to deadlines.
  • Negotiation and/or influencing skills.
  • Expertise in all Microsoft Office applications (particularly excel and PowerPoint) and applications relating to financial and credit analysis.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of sanctioning/risk processes
  • Knowledge of lending documentation e.g. facility documentation, security documentation
  • Good to have \xe2\x80\x93 Good working knowledge in atleast one of them - VBA, SQL, Tableau and/or Python
