About the team: Paytm payment gateway enables thousands of online merchants to offer world class frictionless payment experience to their customers. We are present across large enterprises and startups including well known unicorns alike. We strive to take payments beyond an enabler and an instrument to drive revenue and user growth for our merchants. Online Payment Gateway is Paytm’s B2B Business regulated by RBI as it allows only authorized entities to conduct PA PG (Payment Aggregator Payment Gateway) business. This team is responsible for growing the penetration of Paytm’s PA PG business in the Indian merchants.

About the role: Startups that partner with Paytm come in sizes and they choose multiple Paytm products for their payment, distribution, banking and growth needs. Your knowledge of the internet and digital solutions combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities shapes how businesses experience and grow with Paytm. Using your relationship-building skills, you provide white glove client service, research and market analysis and help early stage startups seamlessly integrate Paytm services which can help the startup leverage the best of Paytm for their growth. Working with them, you set the vision and the strategy for how their startup can reach and accept payments from thousands of users.
In this position, you will work with a number of different early stage startups, building relationships and providing account management and Paytm solutions advice to help hit their goals and grow. The team specializes in new business acquisitions and sales, and this too will form a core part of your daily role. Your interest in sales and the digital economy, and entrepreneurial drive will enable our early stage startups to expand their businesses with Paytm latest products and solutions. Using your effective communication skills, you are the face of Paytm to a portfolio of clients whose needs you listen to, and help define the strategy for how their products and services can reach users

Expectations/ Requirements

1. MBA's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2. 2-3 years of sales, consulting, or business development experience
3. Experience in sales and/or account management.
4. Ability to fluently speak and write in English Preferred qualifications:
5. Experience in new business acquisition and working against an assigned quota.
6. Experience working in Fintech/Payment Gateway business, solid understanding of payment flows in the online payments
7. Demonstrated experience working within the e-commerce startup ecosystem
8. Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple deals at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
9. Proactive, independent worker with the demonstrated capacity to lead, motivate and work well with others.
10. Tele sales experience is must, should be proactive in outbound calling
11. Experience in Payment Gateway and Merchant Servicing/Support will be preferred. IT/Telecom Sales with Tele Sales Experience can be an added advantage
12. Good oral and written communication skills are a must.
13. Proactively reaching out to merchants over calls to be required (B2B Merchants)
14. Experience in working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM will be a plus
15. Speed of merchant query handling, negotiation, closure, and internal coordination will be required on a day to day basis.
16. Problem solving attitude, sales centric focus, and self-motivation.

Superpowers/ Skills that will help you succeed in this role:

1. Individual sales & business development role for Paytm products to business merchants & entities
2. Spoc will be required to connect over calls with all assigned incoming leads and understand merchant requirement
3. The person will be required to assess merchant needs and pitch the correct Paytm product accordingly e.g. Payment Gateway, Payment Links etc depending on the merchant's readiness in a consultative manner
4. Spoc will be required to close and convert the maximum # of leads assigned as per the assigned targets
5. Spoc will be responsible for driving GMV/Revenue for their onboarded merchants as per the assigned targets.
6. Spoc will be responsible for End-To-End account ownership activities.
7. Spoc will be responsible for completing merchant onboarding by assisting them with the documentation required and guiding merchant in terms of getting their e-Commerce website/ app ready for onboarding
8. Spoc will be required to connect, call and follow up aggressively on each assigned lead to ensure maximum conversion
9. The role will require the employee to proactively reach out to merchants over call and follow up aggressively on all incoming business leads and onboard, integrate and transact the merchant

Educational Qualifications Required:
MBA degree or equivalent practical experience
