The client is in the business of Custom Chemical manufacturing of Nucleosides & Specialty Chemicals products catering to versatile customer segmentations including Specialty Chemicals, Material Science, Agro Chemicals, Life Science & Pharmaceutical customers worldwide. The client is building upon their solid chemistry expertise and offers capabilities that include basic research, process development, scale up and large-scale manufacturing.

The client offers custom synthesis, and contract research services mainly through Fee for Service (FFS), while also providing a comprehensive basket of services for developing new products, processes, and novel technologies to its clients with complete large-scale manufacturing support ensuring stringent customer specifications and regulatory compliances. The company focuses on four key business areas: Nucleosides, Specialty Chemicals, Organometallics & Contract manufacturing.

The position will assume complete ownership of sales & marketing across regions. The role assumes responsibilities given below :-
  • Responsible for overall sales targets, developing new accounts, farming existing accounts, and managing the sales and marketing function
  • Responsible for account management and relationship building with decision makers (CXOs ) across key accounts
  • Suggest sales and marketing strategies as well as product portfolio changes
  • Strengthen the Innovassynth brand through focused ATL and BTL activities
  • Ensure fulfillment of order pipeline and drive to accomplish growth targets
Executional Responsibilities include to: -
  • Ensure new business opportunities - oversee the regional effort to hunt new accounts, farm existing accounts & develop a relationship with key accounts
  • Track key developments in the market - product, customer, and competition
  • Manage brand positioning and internal branding efforts
  • Set and track KPIs along with team goals to monitor and develop internal capabilities and delivery standards
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the sales administration processes
  • Ensure sales, finance, and legal policies and procedures are followed
  • Have visibility across ongoing projects and directly overlook strategically critical projects

The Successful Applicant

The candidate is expected to come from the Specialty Chemicals industry having prior experience in Contract Research and manufacturing services/products. S/he would need to bring in an immense passion that will enable the company to be recognized as a globally renowned organization.Academics:
  • Graduation or Post Graduation in Organic Chemistry PhD will be an added advantage.
  • MBA in Marketing / Operations from a reputed institute.
  • Impeccable track record of academic excellence.

Work Experience:
  • 12 -15 years of experience in Sales & Marketing of specialty chemicals.
  • Minimum 4 years in a leadership position.
  • Should have existing relationships with key accounts & experience in the industry.
  • Exposure to an Organometallic profile will be an added advantage.
  • Prior hands-on experience in managing R&D/Production is desirable but not mandatory.

Technical Leadership:
  • Sound technical knowledge of Marketing and Project Management functions.
  • Sound technical knowledge of chemistry and its commercial applications.
  • Financial acumen & understanding of costing.

Industry expertise:
  • Should have in depth knowledge and a solid understanding of the dynamics of this industry.
  • Should be very well connected (on a first-name basis) with the decision makers.
  • Should be very well versed in the statutory aspects of the industry in which he operates.
  • Should be very well informed about the competition pricing and strategies.

Relationship & Influence:
  • Should be passionate about his domain with adequate reserves of energy.
  • Should have an innate ability to strategize and meticulously plan tasks with attention to detail.
  • Should be highly organized and disciplined.
  • Should be very clear in his thing and very sharp in his communication.
  • Should be easily approachable and pleasant to interact with.
  • Should be very resourceful to convert any obstacle into an opportunity.
  • Should be very tenacious and not easily satisfied or demotivated.
