Job Description

- As a Retail Planner/Retail Allocator, your role will be crucial in ensuring optimal inventory levels and allocation of products across our retail stores. You will work closely with the Buying and Merchandising teams to analyse sales data, monitor inventory levels, and make informed decisions to maximise sales and minimise stock shortages.

Primary Responsibilities:

Inventory Analysis: Regularly analyze sales data, stock levels, and historical trends to determine optimal inventory levels for each store location.

Allocation Planning: Collaborate with the Buying and Planning teams to develop allocation plans based on product demand, store performance, and seasonality.

Stock Distribution: Allocate merchandise to stores based on sales forecasts, customer preferences, and product availability.

Replenishment Management: Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders to maintain appropriate stock levels at all times.

Sales Performance Analysis: Review sales reports and identify underperforming stores or product categories, proposing corrective actions to improve sales performance.

Store Communication: Liaise with store managers to understand their needs, provide support, and address any allocation-related queries or concerns.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Merchandising team to provide feedback on product performance, identify opportunities for assortment improvement, and contribute to seasonal buying decisions.

Reporting: Generate regular reports on allocation performance, stock levels, and sales metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

- Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.

- Prior experience in retail allocation, merchandise planning, or inventory management.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and identify trends.

- Proficiency in using inventory management systems and MS Excel.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and store managers.

- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accuracy and organisation.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.

- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

- Knowledge of retail industry trends and understanding of customer buying behaviour.
