Rocket Learning is a high-growth ed-tech non-profit aiming to catalyze early childhood education and community engagement in India. We seek a research professional to manage research studies to contribute to uncovering new and interesting insights into the low-income Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE) landscape and inform strategy and our intervention. This position will play a vital role in undertaking and implementing research studies and be a part of the growing team at Rocket Learning. The work requires a strong research understanding, especially in monitoring evaluation designs and methodologies, interviewing techniques, and qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in education research, strong analytical and project management skills, and a passion for improving early childhood education outcomes in India. Job Responsibilities The candidate will perform the following key functions: Plan, design, implement and manage research projects. Design research tools for data collection using mixed-method approach. Execute projects/assessments with the team of enumerators, including capacity building for project execution through training processes. Conduct key informant interviews/focus group discussions/workshops. Liaison with partner organizations, data collection teams, and other relevant agencies. Provide required support and monitor the quality and progress of the work. Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis with primary and secondary data. Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in research and data management. Assist/ lead the research and ME team in developing reports, presentations, and other communication materials (including research, drafting, editing, data analysis, and presentation). Provide guidance and support to team members involved in research projects. Make and deliver presentations of reports to internal and external stakeholders. Qualification and Competencies Master s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Science or other related fields of study. 3-5 years of professional work experience in the research and monitoring evaluation (ME) domain in supporting businesses with research and analysis at a development/ management consulting firm, research institute/ firm/ public policy think tank, NGO, or bilateral/ multilateral agency. Experience in conducting research studies, such as need assessments, skill gap studies, baseline/ endline surveys, policy reviews, and impact evaluations. Excellent writing and presentation skills are a core requirement of the position. Must be able to express ideas clearly and concisely. Prior experience in writing reports, creating client presentations, and publishing research papers is a strong plus Experience in contemporary methodologies and practices, with hands-on experience in writing and publications. Experience working in social and development research in managing large-scale surveys is desired. Knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative research, encompassing primary and secondary research. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in qualitative data analysis using software like Nvivo and ATLAS.ti Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners Attention to detail and good time management Knowledge of early childhood education in India and the challenges and opportunities in the sector Willingness to travel to the field for project execution and management Critical Factors for Success 1.
