J.P. Morgan Global Credit Trading business is a global leading market maker in bonds, credit derivatives, exotic products and solutions. It offers first-class, highly integrated financial services to a global client base and provides financial assets and liquidity for banks, insurance companies, finance companies, mutual funds and hedge funds. Traders, salespeople and research analysts work collectively to generate ideas and provide markets to clients.

The Credit Systematic Market Making is part of Global Credit Trading and performs end-to-end systematic trading of credit products, including Corporate and Emerging Market Bonds, Fixed Income ETFs and Credit Derivatives. We apply a scientific approach to trading by combining an understanding of market microstructure with modern data analytics to develop quoting, market-making and hedging strategies.

The candidate will be part of Quantitative Research, which is responsible for providing quantitative analytics and models to facilitate and optimize trading and risk management in the global CIB Markets Business.

The Credit SMM Data Analytics group is looking for a quantitative associate or VP who will leverage their data and analytical skills to help drive efficiency, resource allocation, and monetization across our credit trading business. The candidate will have a good understanding of markets and trading, strong knowledge of statistical methods including machine learning, and extremely strong Python programming skills, including architecture and framework design.

You\'ll contribute to the strategic agenda to transform the Credit Trading desk and shape the future of the bond portfolio trading business using state-of-the-art machine learning techniques.

  • Development, deployment and support of algorithms and tools for real-time pricing of corporate bonds;
  • Applying machine learning and statistical techniques to global bond markets;
  • Conduct research and statistical analysis to build and refine monetization systems for trading signals, including alpha signals, hedging strategies and liquidation strategies;
  • Written and verbal communication with Model Review Groups in order to make models pass strict in-house standards.

Specially, you\'ll have the chance to work on the following aspects
  • Clean Data
  • Raw data might contain duplicates, errors, or outliers. Cleaning the data means maintaining the quality of data in a spreadsheet or through a programming language so that your interpretations won\'t be wrong or skewed. Monitoring data quality and removing corrupt data;
  • Using data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns;
  • Briefly, descriptive analysis tells us what happened, diagnostic analysis tells us why it happened, predictive analytics forms projections about the future, and prescriptive analysis creates actionable advice on what actions to take;
  • Interpret Data
    • Interpreting data will involve finding patterns or trends in data that will help you answer the question at hand. Essentially, organizing and transforming information into comprehensible structures;
    • Using data to predict trends in the customer base and the client population as a whole;
  • Perform statistical analysis on data
    • Using tools and techniques to visualize data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs;
    • Prepare reports and presenting these to management or clients;
    • Communicate with stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements;
  • Model Data
    • This entails creating and designing the structural relationships. You might choose what types of data to store and collect, establish how data categories are related to each other, and work through how the data actually appears;
  • You demonstrate quantitative and problem-solving skills as well as research skills;
  • You have excellent practical data analytics skills on real data sets gained through hands-on experience, including familiarity with methods for working with large data and tools for data analysis (pandas, numpy, scikit, TensorFlow);
  • You have in-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques;
  • You have a solid understanding of data sources, data organisation and storage;
  • You think strategically and creatively when faced with problems and opportunities. You always look for new ways of doing things;
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share findings with shareholders;
  • You pay attention to details when working with data in order to make accurate conclusions and predictions;
  • You\'re enthusiastic about knowledge sharing and collaboration;

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science/statistics/engineering or a related degree;
  • Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field;
  • Knowledge of relevant relational databases;
  • You have demonstrated high-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases;
  • You have demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases;
  • Markets experience and general trading concepts and terminology is useful to be familiar with;
  • You\'re interested in applying agile development practices in a front-office trading environment;
  • You demonstrate proficiency in code design and programming skills, with primary focus on Python;
  • You quickly grasp business concepts outside immediate area of expertise and adapt to rapidly changing business needs;
  • Robust testing and verification practices;
