The Engineer position based out of Pune office in India and will report to Asst.Manager Filtration Engineering - Pre order. This position is responsible to plan and organize the different specialized work stream of the engineering department. Accountable for Pre order engineering / Application Engineering/ Bidding activities. Receiving RFQ, reviewing customer specification and providing cost competitive technical proposal and fully compliance to customer requirement and specification. Responsible for checking and validating the techno commercial offers.
This Position works closely with other functions such as the sales, project management, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure the engineering contribution of the full order-to-cash process for filtration products. Senior Engineer is also responsible for providing regular resource planning, control & monitoring backlog, on time deliverables and measure quality of the Biddings and Pre order engineering deliverables. Responsible for Maintain department dashboard, measure KPI and development objectives.

The primary objective of the filtration engineering organization is the design of products for new or existing customers with focus on design within the customer\'s needs, from both a technical and commercial perspective. This includes planning and executing projects that meet cost targets, qualification, and schedule requirements. Customers may be internal or external to the organization.

• Establish Pre order engineering function for Indufil and Seebach products, ensure capable processes and develop the necessary engineering talent, skills, and processes to support growth plans in the business at ISC Pune
• Establish standard engineering processes with clear alignment and accountability to customers\' commercial expectation.
• Assure compliance with customer standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies, procedures, and standards

Duties & Responsibilities

What you\'ll do -

• Ensure efficient support of GeoMarket and Business Development sales force, in delivering necessary technical specifications, feasibility studies and costing for inquiries
• Ensure on time delivery of technical proposals, Proposal / manufacturing drawings / BOMs for filter solutions, elements, tools as well as the necessary product documentation
• Engineering responsibility to resolve production non-conformance, quality issues, and RCAs
• Control and coordinate efficient development of new products based on market / customer needs
• Support development of product sizing and selection tools, as well as development and / or enhancement of standard working procedures
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, VAVE, and other strategic initiatives
• Work closely and collaboratively with other engineering teams in Duiven, Vellmar and Hnevotin engineering teams
• Develop team skills and competences tailored to organization support requirements, identify talents, and create together with management and HR specific talent development programs
• Completes other assignments as directed
• Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S

The Individual

What you\'ll definitely need -

• A Bachler or master\'s degree in an engineering discipline with 5 + years\' experience in technology development, engineering, or similar functions.
• At least 5+ year engineering experience with at least 2+ years of relevant domain experience
• Requires some knowledge of filtration in Chemical, Aerospace, Refinery, Turbomachinery and Polymer, Pharmaceutical.
• Strong working knowledge of how the filtration business and markets work, and how to create growth through engineering processes and products
• Good understanding of engineering process needs in design and operations, key business drivers and industry practices
• Excellent communication skills to articulate strategies and drive a coordinated action plan.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to prioritize and communicate clearly across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a deadline driven work environment, attention to detail, and multitasking are essential.
• Affinity with filtration and/or separation as essential technology in process industry
• An ability to work in an international environment with functional teams spread over various regions including corresponding willingness to travel
• Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results with limited direct supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, a proficiency in MS Office
