Job Description


Summary The Project Manager(PM) has the responsibility to deliver the project(s) under Asia region P&L for GE Renewables Energy Hydro Solution Business, in support of the project core team members and functionally reporting to the Projects Leader based in Vadodara, India. Position shall be based in Vadodara. The PM drives execution of the allocated Project(s) scope to maximize the results of Project(s) with respect to Cash and Margin, whilst delivering the Project on time, in conformity with the Contract and managing the Customer expectations complying the contract and GE Hydro solutions guidelines and policies. Accountability Plan and manage the complete execution of a project specific scope from Contract signature to close out, in line with Contract requirement. Lead a Project team and report to the Project Director. Ensure completion of Project specific scope to meet the Project Performance goals / contract requirements. Responsible and accountable for the Project specific S afety, Q uality, scope D elivery and C ost of assigned Project(s). Roles and Responsibilities The Project Manager is fully responsible and accountable -considering GE Renewable, Sector, Businesses guidelines, interests and strategy- for the following activities: Project Execution Strategy : Based on the contract, develops and implements with the Management and the Project Director the strategy for the execution of the allocated Project(s) scope in order to achieve the project performance goals. Communication : Provides adequate reporting to all stakeholders such as customer, business partners and management. Agrees with the Project Director the interface with the customer and delivers in accordance with the agreement. Manages the internal and external communication loop. Project Organisation : Sets up and secures the necessary resources for the execution of the project. Organises the project team and ensures that the team members have clearly identified roles, responsibilities, defined interfaces and are empowered within their scope of duties. Performance Management : Constantly monitors and if requested reports the necessary key performances indicators (KPI). Takes immediately all necessary actions and decisions to guarantee financial, time, quality and safety performance to maximise the allocated project(s) scope\'s goals achievements. Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management : Ensures best compliance with specification at lowest final cost. Launches the preparation and monitors inspection test programs. Consolidates and approves the documentation on the allocated scope. Ensure Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety requirements are applied. Claim Management : Addresses claims by deciding on actions and leading them in consideration of the defined strategy. Immediately informs the Project Director of any impact on the overall performances of the Project Risk and Opportunities :. Constantly updates and reviews the risk and opportunities of the Project. Evaluates and decides on actions that benefit the overall performance of the Project, consulting with the Project Director if appropriate. Follows-up these actions implementation and results. Project Process : Assumes full responsibility for the delivery of the allocated project(s) scope, from Hand Over from Sales until all obligations are complete at FAC and/or Hand Over to Service Sector (if applicable). Takes necessary actions to improve the project process. Also provides feedback to Sales and other Business Functions on the performance of the Project and processes. People Management : Builds, leads and coaches a committed Project team that guarantees the highest level performance for the Project. Defines Project goals and objectives, evaluates performance against them and provides performance evaluation and development plans to the functional management. Project Planning : Develops and monitors the Master Time Schedule, manages Project float to ensure timely completion of the Project Required Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited university or college along with a proven track record of working in Large Power Plant projects. Hydro project management is preferred. Overall, 8-15 years of relevant experience. Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills in English . Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Established project management skills. Ability to manage working with cross-functional, virtual and international teams Experience of working in large Consortium power plant project OR Hydropower Projects Strong, self-directed, collaborative team player with interpersonal & communication skills Note: To comply with US immigration and other legal requirements, it is necessary to specify the minimum number of years\' experience required for any role based within the USA. For roles outside of the USA, to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, the JDs should focus on the substantive level of experience required for the role and a minimum number of years should NOT be used.
