JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager Location: EIC-Pune Position Summary: As a Program Manager working in the new product development group, you will be responsible for leading complex/large scale project which involves broad range of responsibilities including planning, technical management, technical leadership, stakeholder management, team development etc. Our mission is to deliver to the market highly reliable products for which Emerson is well known and our customers demand. In support of that mission, you will be responsible for rapid familiarization with our embedded products, Product design and technological needs. This role requires a well-rounded skillset with the ability to understand marketing requirements, work with cross-functional teams & technical teams to develop technical solution that meets the requirements as per Emerson\'s quality standards. A strong technical background is crucial to lead product development team. Technical leadership is critical for this role. You will require to lead of product development team and guide/mentor team in realizing the business objectives associated with project/product. This role will require prior end-to-end product development experience ranging from marketing requirements to technological assessment to designing a product that complies to regulatory standards required for the product. A strong exposure to product development life cycle processes, tools & methodologies (Agile) is crucial to ensure process driven product development. Essential Job Functions: Duties Tasks Team Leadership Lead end-to-end product development team starting from concept development to product launch. Work with product stakeholders and lead engineering team in realizing the product that is aligned with business objective. Develop Team Guide/Mentor team through the product development life cycle. Monitor / Identify / support team in resolving the challenges faced in the project. Architecture and Design Work with cross-functional stakeholders in concept feasibility/development of product architecture. Provide technical leadership / direction to development team. Project / Program Management Work with stakeholders and develop plans/goals/define process/execution methodologies in global engineering environment. Planning / Monitoring / Tracking / Risk Management in line with standard project management practices. Stakeholder communication Technical Management Work with team for detailed technical planning of engineering work that involves break down of work, risk assessment, technical solution development and risk mitigation. Team performance management Collaboration Work with cross-functional team including hardware, firmware, product management, manufacturing to develop product in-line with needs. Process Driven Development Ensure process driven development that meets stakeholder expectations / team communication / efficient project execution. Product development in line with phase gate process and utilizing Agile methodologies as needed to deliver periodic results throughout the project. Compliance and Safety Ensure that the product complies with relevant regulations and standards, such as those set by the FCC, CE, or other regulatory agencies Identify safety issues, particularly if the electric actuator will be used in a safety-critical system Education / Experience Required: Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics / Electrical or Equivalent Engineering. 15 + Embedded product development experience that involves Digital/Analog/Mixed signal designs. Should have prior experience in managing the project comprising of SMEs/cross-functional stakeholders / multi-disciplinary team. Proven experience in designing the product based on initial requirements that demonstrate end-to-end product development & leading design team from concept to release. Well versed with or ability to interpret various industry standards applicable for industrial products and translate them into product design. Experience working in a global engineering environment. Working experience on Bluetooth & other industrial protocols like Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, HART etc will be advantageous. Experience in developing hardware for product that involves motor control interface will be an added advantage. Experience working in Actuators / Electric actuators will be advantageous. Familiarity with Innovation framework to enable Innovation / new ideas in developing solutions to engineering problems. Strong exposure to product development life cycle processes, tools & methodologies (Agile) is crucial to ensure process driven product development. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Experience working in 32-bit Micro-controllers / Microprocessor with strong understanding of controller architecture and peripherals. Prior experience of full product development life cycle from requirement to product launch. Power supply design and development. Peripheral interface design experience like - Ethernet / USB / DDRs / ADC / SPI / I2C / Display Experience working with external regulatory bodies for product certification and developing required documentation. Dealing with ambiguous requirements and developing clarity that meets business objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Communication Protocols - HART, Bluetooth, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET will be advantageous. Experience working with standard development tools for configuration management, design, and tracking.
