The fast-growing business offers a broad suite of global equity, bond, commodity, and asset allocation indexes. The Role: The individual in this role is responsible for successfully managing the delivery of various strategic and tactical projects of the Morningstar Indexes business unit. Accountable to the Program Management function, this individual ensures that efforts are appropriately planned, organized, staffed, and managed across all required disciplines and units within the Indexes BU The ideal candidate will be very knowledgeable of the various project management techniques at a project level and have a solid understanding of standard software development and change management. Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate scrum teams with effective servant leadership.
  • Serve as scrum master by planning, leading & facilitating scrum ceremonies with objective of delivering working software with quality.
  • Work with Product Owner & Tech leads to ensue product roadmap & backlog is created & prioritized for effective backlog refinement & sprint planning events.
  • Document, communicate, and track the research-delivery plan and associated risks and dependencies to cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring its overall success.
  • Creates and communicates a clear and accurate picture of project status and adapts the message to provide the appropriate detail for all levels of stakeholders including end-users.
  • Provides overall management and direction to the entire project team, effectively delegating responsibility and incorporating proper standards, procedures, and controls.
  • Creates effective rollout, go-live, and end-user communication plans
  • Creates a team-oriented environment; staff acquisition and development; and contributes to process improvements and adopting best practices.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables where applicable.
  • Report on and facilitate conversations regarding progress against KPIs and drive change where needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Formally trained on Agile and Lean framework. CSM, CSPO, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, SAFe is preferred.
  • Graduate or postgraduate in Finance is a plus
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel; experience with JIRA and data visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus
  • Management and leadership abilities (organization, planning, implementation, team building, coaching, support, guidance.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Agile development life cycle management and project management methodologies.
  • Flexible in methodology, reliable self-starter, results oriented yet sensitive to people.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multitask and handle interruptions.
  • Assertive, self-motivated, self-directed, with the ability to "manage upward."
  • Attention to detail for accurate administration of projects
  • A strong and positive collaborator with resources, peers, end-users, and managers alike.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
