Has accountability for project plan, scope, cost, work schedule, design and build, and contractual deliverables for own workstreams of a project or for a full smaller project. Contributes to day to day improvements in own area of expertise. Engages in dialogue with customers in order to ensure right project focus and align resources allocation. Acts as decision maker in defined day to day maritime technical activities. Contributes to high customer satisfaction Maersk Fleet Management & Technology (FM&T) is responsible for all aspects of Ship Management of all the Maersk owned container vessels. Fleet Technology delivers the complete project lifecycle for Newbuilding's, Ship retrofit and conversions, technical innovation, and a variety of other specialist technical services to the Maersk fleet. As an organization we strongly believe in a people-centric approach with emphasis on employee engagement and work-life balance Key Responsibilities The position of Project Manager - Machinery serves the purpose of handling and executing projects that range from retrofitting of vessels to implementation of performance enhancing ideas and projects. You could be involved in various projects involving machinery and hull, incorporating new technologies, compliance related retrofits and piloting new concepts. In addition to executing projects, you will be required to provide support to the fleet groups as necessary. For this position, there is expected to be periods with high travel activity, where you will be joining ship / yards for projects that you are involved in. You therefore need to be flexible on travel, and capable of traveling globally without any limitations apart from normal visa requirements to specific countries. Project Management - Planning, Executing, and Closing Projects - defining the project, building its comprehensive work plan, and managing budget and timeline. Ensure that learning's from the operation are captured for the future by actively using Project management tools like Microsoft Project, lesson learned logs etc. Work closely with different stakeholders to make sure that the scope and direction of the project is on schedule, as well as liaise with other departments for support. Ensure good stake holder management within our organization, keeping relevant persons informed and involved to the right detail at the right time. Carry out analysis and provide detailed feedback on technical matters and projects. Apply your knowledge and experience in support to the Fleet Group Tech Superintendent on day-to-day basis or as required, at the same time seek advice and guidance from colleagues when beneficial Ensure that relevant information is shared with Fleet Groups, to proactively address and avoid technical challenges. Optimizing and support implementation of new technology into our existing fleet. 'Hands-on' assignments in projects where ship visits are required. Record Keeping and Data Analysis as required by the assigned project. Who we are looking for: The position will demand a technical and experienced engineer, who can handle and be a part of projects of varying dimensions. Technical and Experienced personnel with Marine Engineering / Naval Architect background (Sailing experience in Senior Engineer Rank is must and Technical Superintendent experience will be added advantage) Person who is familiar with technical systems onboard a ship and understands ship operations both technically and commercially. Education in a technical degree /post-graduation Project management experience/ certification would be an added advantage. A structured and motivated person, who maintains a high drive within a dynamic environment. Should have Advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools likeXL, PPT, Project etc. Experience on data management systems, Knowledge of analytical tools like Power Bi,Python, R script etc. will be an added advantage. Experience on new alternative fuel oil systems testing in addition to operational knowledge will be added advantage. A good communicator and capable of interacting with many internal / external stakeholders in addition to value sparring with colleagues on challenges that exceed your area of expertise.
