Your day to day Purpose of the role


This position is responsible for developing the analysis, reporting, and tracking of all programs, projects and portfolio objectives and requirements within the Technology Services team. This position is also responsible for continual analysis of the portfolio to assure balance and optimization to achieve Technology Services’ strategic plan.


Key Accountabilities

· Provide strategic overview of all programs, projects, and interdependencies, reporting anomalies or areas of concern to senior management. · Developing the analysis of the portfolio and provide recommendations on the program/project mix to key decision makers, develop, maintain, and provide expert analysis of the commissioning process where programs and projects are added/deleted from the portfolio. · Develop, maintain, and provide a management dashboard, portfolio plan, resource capability plan, portfolio risk register and dependencies register. · Balance/optimize the portfolio in terms of strategic goal attainment vs. delivery capacity/capability and business as usual priorities. · Evaluate and help to implement process improvements to improve project workflow and more effective delivery including initiating reviews of post-program and post-project evaluation reports and benefits to ensure the strategic goals have been met. · Facilitate governance/portfolio meetings and provide information/support to business planning. · Develop and maintain key performance indicators for the portfolio and practice lifecycles. · Liaise with the Finance business partners regarding monitoring of financial spend and timing/support for audits.


Key Interfaces

Internal Relationships This position will work closely with client management, IT development teams, support teams, IT management to discuss projects, provide recommendations on improvement opportunities and operating and financial performance. External Relationships Key vendors, professional associations, industry experts to keep informed of existing and evolving industry standards.

What we need from you Required Education, Experience, Technical Skills and Knowledge

Education • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Experience • At least 8 years working in a PMO function supporting large project/portfolios or programs.

Technical Skills and Knowledge • Expert working knowledge of project/program and portfolio management methodology, and project constraints. • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation and ability to translate strategic business requirements into technical specifications and specific system functionality. • Knowledgeable of the tensions between project management standards and practical application without compromising delivery or incurring risk. • Demonstrated ability to focuses on quantifiable outcomes. • Expert analytical, budgeting, performance tracking, monitoring, analysing, and communication skills. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project. • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and presenting information to clients, vendors, management, and staff. • Strong analytical skills.
