Leverage your industry experience and technical acumen to drive client projects from concept through to build.You combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. Your successful track record on these projects and ability to problem solve both individually and part of a team makes Gensler a perfect place to cultivate your career.In this position, you will collaborate with our Design Directors and design leadership on a variety of exciting residential and mixed-use developments with commercial, mixed-use, and retail components. You will produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensure success. You\xe2\x80\x99re a fit for this role if you have experience in Residential Mixed Use project\xe2\x80\x99s conception and construction documentation, are proficient in Revit, and enjoy working with a team of architects/ designers that bring design dreams to life. This is a good role for someone who is technically proficient and enjoys working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.What You Will DoAn integral part of the design team, leads towards a cohesive and rational design solution which conforms to the project brief and is technically, legally and financially responsible.Based on a very good understanding of local and national codes, be able to guide the team to design in alignment with the requirements.Guides skill development of junior designersContributes to and reinforces the \xe2\x80\x9cteam effort\xe2\x80\x9d method of producing design projectsTakes responsibility for implementing approved briefing approachLeads project meetings as a Design ManagerSolves complex design problems through schematic design and design developmentOversees the preparation of graphic materials for presentation to clientResearches and recommends appropriate systems, materials and finishesPresent design schemes and documents to the client with the Design ManagerOversees the design development package for productionAs Design Manager, liaises as necessary with client on issues of designDeveloping strategic planning, conceptual designs, design development, and productionPerform design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.Provides design support for completion and execution of design projectsDevelop space planning concepts and generate program documentsParticipates in selection of palettes & material presentations, and generate specificationsManage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, building envelope, life safety, etc.)Support communication between project team, client, vendors, contractors, and consultantsActively participate and contribute to the financial performance of projectUtilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design conceptsEstablish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships through successful project deliveryParticipation in business development effortParticipate in exciting design and research projects and bring a new perspective to what we do for our clientsContribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programsYour QualificationsRequiredBachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Architecture12-15 + years of project experience with a focus in Residential Mixed Use DevelopmentsDesign Management experience will be preferredExperience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS OfficeLEED / WELL accreditation a plusProficiency creating technical drawings and specifications that succinctly, thoroughly and accurately describe the work to be doneStrong planning abilities and have the ability to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadershipStrong skills in client relationship management and presentationMust be a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to problem solve both individually and as a part of a project teamExperience in construction document preparation and field observationExperience with the entire project lifecycle and design process through post-occupancyFlexibility to focus on multiple projects in various stages of developmentA quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environmentExcellent written + verbal communication and client relationship management skillsCollaborative and team-consciousMust have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships through successful project deliveryStrong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skillsYour Design Technology QualificationsEssential:Deep knowledge and experience in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.Experience in collaboration within the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.Deep understanding of Real-Time Visualization development within the context of BIM, specifically in the use of Escape/ other rendering mediums.Experience in creating FF&E schemes and developing them through detailed technical specificationDesirable:Working knowledge in the use of VR walkthroughs and panoramas for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviewApplications we work with:Design Authoring -
