DESCRIPTION

Amazon\'s WHS Central Programs team (IN) is seeking a skilled and motivated Program Manager to assist in the management and execution of the WHS programs worldwide. This provides an opportunity to join a team that is continuously evolving and growing. Team supports WW WHS programs to drive injury prevention and risk management. The team works on process improvement, quantitative assessment and statistical analysis on data and generates insights and solutions for effective program management. Program Manager, WHS will build processes and work with the program team across geographies and market places. We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about managing projects, developing scalable solutions, driving process improvement, and can work with multiple teams. The leader will be responsible for partnering with the WW WHS team, operations team, and tech partners for the execution of the program. By leveraging lean mechanisms and Kaizens, this individual will build processes to drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure risk management that impact the site operations and create a safe, healthy, and engaging working environment for our Associates. The person needs to work with Senior leaders to create and achieve the WHS vision in alignment with Amazon\'s global standards, policies, and procedures. The program manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent written and verbal messages. The person will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve the processes. The person must possess excellent program management skills, a relevant Operational & Safety background and knowledge in machine safety. The individual must have the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership in across the globe.

  • Lead a team of program managers - hire, manage, and develop a team
  • Lead and provide support to process improvement projects to address key cross functional issues impacting stakeholders
  • Lead quantitative assessment and statistical analysis CoE workstream and scale it up globally
  • Working with stakeholder teams and using data to identify and prioritize high impact improvement opportunities
  • Lead ISO certification workstream for CPT team and act as consultant for ISO implementation for other teams
  • Partner with Cross functional leaders to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive delivery. Help internal WHS team to determine where to iterate to make improvements
  • Responsible for organizing/collecting data, writing PR/FAQs and other strategic program documentation (e.g., Technical Whitepaper, WBR, MBR etc.).
  • Manage post-launch support plans (e.g., post-mortem, issue/ticket management, possibly COEs)
  • Drive program innovation / simplified mechanism for existing projects and look for opportunities to improve system quality and operational excellence
Complexity:
  • Defines performance reporting processes to track and monitor WHS metrics and quality of deliverables for projects and BU goals
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures and Process Map Visuals by identifying key opportunity areas to minimize the injuries occurring in sites by studying the injury themes and patterns
  • Finds scalable and quick solutions to deliver changing stakeholder requirements as per update in WHS regulations
  • Provide high level insights through complex data and statistical analysis for each countries MBR within NA/ROW/EUCF region
  • Develop Whitepapers to propose injury reduction initiative and work with Program/Ops team to pilot and deploy projects
Influence:
  • Communicates effectively to align team members with stakeholder requirements
  • Earns trust of stakeholders by making recommendations on process by challenging the status quo and improving them
  • Lead & influence independently without authority to ensure on-time delivery from peers
  • Works on escalation responses from WHS field teams, provides strategic insights by doing complex analysis to help WHS Programs leaders take better decision
Impact:
  • Drives process improvements by capturing gaps and proposing/developing solutions or mechanisms to bridge them.
  • Impacts WHS Central Programs team goals and project related metrics

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor\'s degree or higher and a minimum of 5 years relevant WHS/ program management experience
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen
- Knowledge of ISO implementation and certification
- Excellent computer skills for use of digital tools for project management, document control and data visualization (Advanced MS Excel, Sharepoint, Quicksight)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong WHS technical aptitude in understanding data and reporting insights
- Competent business and technical writing skills
- Ability to navigate in ambiguous situations and work in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly evolving environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- CSP/ CIH / NEBOSH IGC / PSM certified or Equivalent WHS courses
- Master\'s degree in Health and Safety or Supply Chain or Operations Management
