Role Responsibilities

Integration Senior developers are tenured and matured integration developers. They do the development job and can contribute more in view of their seasoned experience.

Scope and Impact

  • Leads or significantly contributes to medium-to-large feature releases; usually multi-person projects that cross engineering team boundaries.
  • Is highly proficient in one or more technical areas.
Technical Execution
  • Is recognized for high quality, impactful technical contributions.
  • Participates in the design review process, seeking and providing constructive criticism.
  • Demonstrates ability to succeed in a wide range of complex situations across multiple axes: e.g. scale, uncertainty, interconnectedness.
  • Monitors and adjusts team pace to instil urgency for success but protect from burnout.
Ownership
  • Estimates and manages implementation timelines and risk.
  • Keeps the Jira tickets and Agile boards updated on his work.
  • Prioritizes and values unowned or undesirable work that enables the team to move faster.
Leadership and Collaboration
  • Participate in daily agile ceremonies and other collaborative meetings to update and plan candidate work.
  • Assist Scrum Master and Product Owner in the details they seek.
  • Crosses team and service boundaries to solve problems.
  • Builds relationships with stakeholders including customers, product managers, cross-functional partners, and external partners.
  • Contributes to defining strategic direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback to ensure team success.
  • Ensures that knowledge is shared amongst the team and does not position themselves or others as a single point of failure.
  • Hand holds junior developers as required or when requested.
Team Building
  • Assists and teaches other engineers as a Mentor on an individual basis.
  • Works through others, lifts the skills and expertise of those around them.
  • Advises manager with insights and recommendations to improve the team.
  • Participates in the hiring process by submitting referrals, meeting candidates, attending recruiting events.
  • Conducts engineering interviews.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Integration Design Engineering team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • At least 8 - 10 years of relevant hands on work experience building, securing, integrating and delivering enterprise-wide applications integration for large organizations on complex projects.
  • Hands on experience and Deep Technical skills in messaging and integration products.
  • Hands on deep expertise in implementation of integration, migration, tuning, debugging and troubleshooting of business applications using MQ, Solace, Kong and / or SoftwareAG Integration Server.
  • Expert in more than one MQ, Solace, Kong and / or SoftwareAG webMethods Integration Server technical components and has very good knowledge of entire stack.
  • Excellent debugging / troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
  • Very good in troubleshooting skills and willing to try new things and resolving "grey" issues
  • Experience with SOAP and REST web services.
  • Experience in working with XML, JSON and FLAT FILE formats.
  • Experience in working with HTTP, HTTPS, TCP Protocol.
  • Experience in working with security protocol (e.g. TLS, OAuth) and understands security in development.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker, orchestration using Kubernetes, Continuous Integration / Delivery tools - Jenkins, Maven, Bitbucket / GIT, Rundeck.
  • Experience in Messaging with JMS, AMQP, WebSphere MQ based Messaging Systems.
  • Strong skills on Java / XML / API / SOA programming with demonstrated implementation capabilities.
  • Very good expertise in implementation of middleware technologies (MQ / Solace / SoftwareAG / Axway / Kong) and migration activities for middleware stack.
  • Proficient in DevOps, Automation and Cloud and Data domains.
  • Excellent Stakeholders communication across various infra teams and interface teams and ability to handle stakeholders.
