About you and this role

The Polyethylene Product Research & Development (R&D) group has an exciting opportunity for a Product Technology Leader (PTL) located in India to support the UNIPOLTM Licensing business (UNIVATION).

The candidate will report to UNIVATION\xe2\x80\x99s Sr Product R&D Leader and will partner closely with Commercial, Engineering, Catalyst and Marketing teams.

The candidate will provide product support to new and existing licensees across several geographies and will also lead new product development projects to further enlarge product offering of UNIPOL\xe2\x84\xa2 technology.

The PTL, will be part of a diverse team of researchers and will work in a global cross-functional environment to drive new polyethylene products developments applying scientific principles, technical fundamentals, market insights and experimental design.

The ideal candidate will work to identify and capture market opportunities to improve profitability and will support regional and global segment teams in opportunity mapping, multigeneration planning, benchmarking and pipeline development.

A second aspect of the role is to serve as product technical leader/mentor/advisor linking the commercial marketplace with R&D efforts and influencing the product development pipeline. In this space, the PTL works closely with Univation\xe2\x80\x99s Catalyst Research Group and with Subject Matter Experts. On top of this, the PTL will work with the Manufacturing team to ensure resin\xe2\x80\x99s production wheels and specific needs are consistent with available chemistry and engineering. The role retains ownership of licensing product sales materials including highly important warranty values and communicates extensively with the customers during plant construction, commissioning and operational stages to ensure high acceptance rates of plant products.

Responsibilities

• Lead/ champion new product development for key polyethylene resins.
• Product representative for licensing sales disclosures on new projects.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams, including Manufacturing, Marketing, Process R&D, and Catalyst R&D to deliver the innovation pipeline of the businesses.
• Partner with commercial and marketing to understand market needs and translate those needs to shape a product pipeline.
• Collaborate with Process R&D to design and conduct DoEs for scaling up new products at pilot plant and commercial reactors.
• Serve as a technical expert for Univation customers; Provides technical support, trainings and presentations on the latest product developments and polyethylene fundamentals/applications.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D.in: Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical field.
• Others educational degrees may apply and would be subjected to further evaluations.

Preferred Skills

• 8+ years of industry experience in product development, application development, project management and customer-facing implementation.
• Polyethylene application expertise and good understanding of the assigned market for the major types of PE.
• Polymer technical background and industry experience enabling learning, and good knowledge of LLDPE, HDPE, and key Univation product offerings such as mLLDPE and bimodal HDPE products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with existing and potential licensees and global product research team.
• Strong ability to work both as a technical leader as well as a productive member of a multi-functional team.
