Role + Responsibilities

• Directly support our customers, service technicians, and sales team with escalated technical requests
• Diagnose instrumentation failures and errors with both remote and on customer sites
• Support the technical support team with high level technical questions and escalations for Optical Analysis
• Provide service training to our authorized service technicians and technical support engineers on Raman Spectroscopy and opto-mechanics instrumentation
• Create/develop/distribute training material in the form of formal classes and knowledge articles
• Communicate and address any product quality concern

Qualification + Profile

• BS in an Optical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR M.S. in Optical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field 3+ years of related experience OR 10+ years of combined experience, education, and training
• Understanding of electrical, optical, and mechanical components including CCD detectors, reference switches, lasers, and optical microscopes
• Experience with microscopes, spectrometers, lasers, and optics and an organized and logical approach to troubleshooting complex opto-mechanical systems
• Competence with Window-based computer systems and troubleshooting communication with an analyzer
• Travel 25-35% - typically includes Authorized Service Provider Trainings, unplanned visits, customer escalations, and on the job trainings
• Preferred but not required: Salesforce experience, interpreting Spectral Analysis
