The Position Roche launched its NAVIFY brand demonstrating its commitment to provide healthcare professionals with digital decision support solutions that transform patient care. The existing portfolio will in the near future, evolve rapidly to include additional decision support applications and workflow products that address challenges faced by healthcare providers as well as research and development applications. Patient data security and privacy are of the highest priority for Roche. In this context, Roche is building a very specialized team that builds and operates a cloud platform for its medical and clinical SaaS products. This team will be responsible for tackling the cybersecurity, compliance, and DevOps challenges of the healthcare industry while enabling high-velocity product development. The Product Owner will be an integral member of this team providing leadership for defining product features and prioritizing them according to business priorities. As a Product Owner, you will

  • Act as customer proxy responsible for working with product development teams and other stakeholders to define and prioritize features and user stories in the backlog.
  • Define releases and planning increments including new features, architecture, and allocations for technical debt.
  • Prepare and participate in planning events as well as in the team retrospective and demo.
  • Own, maintain and prioritize the team backlog and draft team objectives for next iteration increments to optimize the flow of work.
  • Accepts user stories and user story acceptance criteria to drive Acceptance Test–Driven Development.
Align with the architects, engineers and ops on the enablement work needed. Inspect and adapt the implementation process in order to increase velocity and quality of the program, including assessment of metrics and evaluation of business value achieved.
  • Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap incl management of the Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)

You have a university degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or other related fields; advanced degree highly desirable. Experience working in a multicultural environment and proven cultural awareness. Experience in the diagnostics and pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated industries like finance or insurance seen as highly advantageous. Furthermore, you bring:
  • 2+ years experience with software product management.
  • 3+ years experience with architecture, development or operations of internet-scale SaaS products.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS a strong plus.
  • Experience with product delivery in regulated industries with good understanding of compliance topics such as information security and design control is a strong plus.
  • Preferably experience with healthcare sector including regulations and controls such as HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.
  • Experience with agile principles including Kanban and Scrum.
  • Strong consulting, negotiation and influencing skills, advanced English skills, strong analytical and abstracting skills and a can-do attitude in order to solve complex problems.
  • Strong accountability and will to succeed while playing fair in a multicultural team.
