The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

The individual will be responsible for the digital product management of Standard Chartered\xe2\x80\x99s Private Banking and Digital channel offerings.

The individual is responsible for representing the customer at all times and for maximising the business value of the product resulting from work done by cross functional teams (composed of analysts, designers, scrum teams) across different locations operating in a lean agile product development environment.

The individual will need to ensure these digital journeys and product features are best-in-class, simple, easy-to-use, engaging and differentiate Standard Chartered from competitors.

This role is required to have operational / business responsibility for the Product aligning to the Hive priorities ensuring that business requirements are adequately addressed and converted into Functional and Technical user stories and clarifies dependencies for project delivery.

  • Role demands supports and backs up the BAU application owner / Lead Product Owner for the successful delivery which includes all aspects of the data relating to their Agile Delivery.
  • Managing the full product lifecycle ensuring the needs of the customers are met and that financial and other benefits are achieved.
  • Working collaboratively with the business owner / Lead Product Owner who has business / operational responsibility for the product. This ensures that business requirements are adequately addressed prioritised.
  • Creating and maintaining a prioritised product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent and clear.
  • Leading the agile execution ensuring major milestones and customer and business outcomes are met.
  • Clearly communicating priorities, objectives / goals, mission and acceptance criteria to the agile delivery team.
  • Ensuring the agile delivery and technology teams understand the items in the product backlog to the level needed.
  • Aligning with PMO and / or Scrum Master to communicate progress of the agile delivery team including status reporting.
  • Providing download for detailed requirements to the respective stakeholders and walking them through the details.
  • Supporting Application / Lead Product Owner while creating and maintaining a prioritised Product Backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent and clear.
  • Supporting the Application / Lead Product Owner for preparing the Agile Execution Document, including the Initial Release Plan and other associated mandatory milestones and tracking and reporting delivery against the Initial Release Plan.
  • Ensuring the Agile Delivery Team members (including designers, developers) understand items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
  • Joining the technical analysis with respective development teams to translate business requirements into details for them to help sizing and solutioning exercises satisfaction.
Strategy
  • Develop and continuously refine PVB channel strategy and roadmap for elevating client experience.
Business
  • Deliver business benefits jointly with segments by incrementally adding new use cases as well as refining exiting use cases.
Processes
  • Ensure agile delivery and maintenance of PVB channel are adhering to Group and country requirements with sign off from impacted process owners.
People and Talent
  • Lead the PVB squad members to achieve the optimal potential, identifying performers and underperformers, motivating and mentoring the squad.
Risk Management
  • Be the 1st line of defence by having a 360 degree view on all initiatives and strike a right balance of client experience and risk mitigation adhering to bank standards.
Governance
  • Lead the governance agenda for all deliveries for the squad incl. developing Change Risk Assessment (CRA) documentation, maintaining financials in clarity systems, etc.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with at least 10 years of experience in financial service domain and digital channels.
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment and proficient in agile tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and learning mindset with ability to work with multiple projects at the same time.

  • PO Certification

  • Prior working experience of wealth products (investments, insurance, etc) will be an added advantage
