Job Description

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development and optimization of our web and mobile products, ensuring that they are user-friendly, engaging, and aligned with the organisation\'s goals. This role requires a deep understanding of web and mobile product development, user experience design, and data analytics. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with multiple teams to create innovative solutions that enhance the news publishing experience across multiple formats and converged media.

What you\'ll do:

- Execute our product strategy and roadmap for web and mobile news platforms, aligned with the organisation\'s goals and audience needs.

- Research competition and their product offerings on a regular basis and identify opportunities and insights for product enhancements and new features.

- Collaborate with editorial, design, engineering teams, vendors and consultants to manage product development efforts.

- Manage documentation of all product related artefacts such as user stories, business requirement documents, high and low level technical specifications, release notes, version notes, security and product updates on an ongoing basis.

- Manage project deliverables using tools like Slack, Jira, Confluence and even spreadsheets and oversee the product development processes, including sprint planning, backlog prioritisation, and release management.

- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of product initiatives, utilising data analytics to inform decision-making and optimise product performance.

- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and user behaviour to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in our digital news products

- Collaborate with advertising and revenue teams to integrate ad monetization strategies and optimise ad placements and formats within the digital news platforms.

- Conduct user testing, A/B testing, and usability studies to gather feedback and validate product hypotheses, iterating and improving products based on insights.

- Stay up-to-date with web and mobile best practices, accessibility standards, and industry regulations to ensure compliance.

- Manage relationships with external vendors and partners for technology integrations and third-party services related to web and mobile product offerings.

Who you are:

- A graduate in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

- A degree in Business Administration would be a plus.

- You have proven experience as a Web/Mobile Product Manager, Lead Engineer, preferably in the digital publishing industry or a related field

- Have a strong understanding of web and mobile product development processes, user experience design, and data driven decision making.

- Well versed with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and product management tools such as Jira, Asana, or Trello.

- Experience in developing and launching successful web and mobile products, preferably in a high-growth environment.

- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable product enhancements
