Job Purpose

R&D Tech strive to deliver products and services to our R&D customers that are meet the needs of the business whilst being intuitive, efficient, effective and satisfying to use. We require a skilled Product Designer with experience in business- and user-centred analysis, and an appreciation for design and process improvement, to join our Product Team. They will help deliver better user experiences and business processes within our application portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes whilst advocating a user-centred focus within Agile ways of working.

The R&D Tech Data Acquisition Product Designer role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include the following:

Driving business requirements collection and ensuring solutions are delivered accordingly to business needs of various GSK groups and in line with R&D strategy.

Optimising the delivery of business value through business partnering, process improvement, user research and user-centred design

Performing user research through qualitative enquiry, quantitative data analysis and user testing within the R&D customer base of this product area.

Collecting user requirements, including necessary improvements and enhancements to selected processes, roles and systems, to ensure systems are sufficiently mature for scale up in GSK. This will entail strong partnership with the product team(s) and key GSK stakeholders in the organisation

Obtaining a solid understanding of the business domain and processes within a product area, capturing user goals, needs and expectations and translating these into personas, journeys and user stories that drive towards improvements.

Driving process optimization through process modelling and service design, taking into consideration the product strategy and system and data landscapes.

Analysing and identifying cross-project needs and dependencies - connecting the dots to ensure all work being done has strategic oversight and helps avoid miscommunication and redundancy

Driving experience design activities to improve user interfaces and task flows through wireframing, prototyping and ideation workshops.

Working closely with the Product Owner and other members of the product team, with a clear focus on delivering value quickly while helping to steer the product area towards business- and user-centred improvements.

Translating all collected requirements into user requirements specification, system risk assessment, process maps and detailed functional specifications when needed. Mapping all needs and analysing expected quality in accordance to e.g. CTQ tree.

Partnering with the business area to understand their challenges and needs, whilst working to manage system and process changes within these user groups, helping ensure smooth deployments and satisfied customers.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

7+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in working in an IT product related industry, with experience in IT software analysis, design, and delivery, particularly areas of user research, experience design and service design.

The position involves a large amount of influencing and communication to individual contributors, lower/mid-management, and external partners across the Organization to apply product analysis and design in a business context with deep analytical and meaningful insights

Track record in delivering business impact through process and IT enabled solutions, across multiple business lines.

Experience of Agile and DevOps

Experience of vendor management.

Deep content knowledge of specific domain.

Track record in effective line management

Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to influence sr. leadership and decision-making using data, market evidence

Relentless for delivering business outcomes and value and simplification with a passion for science and advancing medicines to patients

Size, scope and scale of challenge necessitates a leader with the right proven experiences, strategic thinking and execution capabilities. Credibility (through experience) is essential to success in these roles.

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (IT)

Fundamental knowledge in Data Pipeline operations, including ETL and ELT processes.

Competence in Data Visualization tools like PowerBI and Tableau.

Fundamental knowledge in Data Science.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Cloud expertise, preferably in Azure.

Basic understanding of the product management lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

Scientific Bachelors Degree

Experience in the Pharma domain

Knowledge of system architecture

Knowledge in SQL

Familiarity with Data Fabric

Knowledge of Denodo

Familiarity with Data Fabric

Knowledge in programming languages such as SAS, Python, Java, and R.
