About the Role
Mott MacDonald India is looking to continue to build its Clean Growth and Energy Transformation team with Green Hydrogen (H2) and Ammonia Technical Specialist to aid the delivery of projects in this domain.

As a Process Engineer for Energy Transition, you will be required to act as the Senior Consultant on relevant projects, while driving the technical delivery with the wider team based locally and globally.

Our ideal candidate is a proactive person who have a passion for and some experience in areas related to energy transition, Hydrogen, CCUS, power to gas and a good view of the H2 and CCUS value chain – clients, suppliers, prospective partners, technologies, digitalisation, key market players, regional trends in various middle eastern territories and various national policies, net zero strategies. Candidates who have a background in other areas of energy but show a desire and aptitude for becoming involved in H2 and CCUS will also be considered but will need to pledge to a training/mentoring program to gain the necessary knowledge.

The role is expected to include a significant level of project services including studies, project and programme management, concept design, FEED, detailed engineering design and asset management. The remit will include cross sector projects as well as those solely within the energy sector, noting that Hydrogen and CCUS offers a clear route to achieving net-zero infrastructure goals.

Key
duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

  • Aid project delivery across relevant technical teams; (e.g., ammonia specialists, renewable energy specialists, RO-desal experts etc);
  • Input to technical delivery of regional hydrogen/ammonia;
  • Input to specific ventures or outcomes from the H2 investment, where scale or importance necessitate. In certain instances, this may also include acting as the Senior Consultant on key projects of significant importance
  • Work as a team with other members of the H2 global hub, such that the global hub meets its operational and performance targets.
  • Work with Regional Energy Transition Senior assisting in market trend assessment, content and strategy development for Client and cross sector engagement.
  • Assist the upskilling and knowledge base of other non-energy people, sufficient for them to be a reference point for the application of Green Hydrogen and Clean Growth initiatives in cross sector opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate the following proficiency:
  • IT and standard industry software skills, including hands-on knowledge of BIM (if applicable) and other digital platforms
  • Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across teams and projects
  • Using inter-social skills to build and promote relationships and also creating effective working environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good report writing, presentation, scientific and computer skills
  • Able to manage with multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams

Candidate Specification
  • Degree qualified
  • Engineering or project management background in energy
  • Specialist in hydrogen/ammonia production. Storage and transmission systems/infrastructure and diligently contributing to the hydrogen community through involvement in working groups, links with research bodies and technology providers across the value chain.
  • Demonstratable experience assisting development of hydrogen/ammonia systems and technologies including electrolysis-based production systems, fuel cell power production and advanced hydrogen conversion systems.
  • Research and development background in the development of hydrogen-based technologies/systems/solutions (MSc level) an advantage.
  • Comprehension of relevant regulatory and safety requirements associated with hydrogen gas installations, Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), etc.
