About Fixed Networks

Our Fixed Networks (FN) business group provides an array of \xe2\x80\x9cgigabit to the home\xe2\x80\x9d solutions to deliver data access to our communication service provider (CSP) customers. This includes Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) as well as 5G fixed wireless access (FWA), xDSL and cable upgrades. We build solutions that don\xe2\x80\x99t stop at the home but also bring that gigabit experience into the home using our meshed Wi-Fi solution.

Our Research and Development team has been growing steadily and to reinforce it further we are looking for a strong technical professional to work on Altiplano, Nokia\xe2\x80\x99s cloud native Fixed Access Domain Controller.

Altiplano virtualizes the management and network functions from the network elements to operators cloud and further improves network operations efficiency by abstracting and automating the underlying multivendor, multi-technology Fixed Access networks.

The responsibilities include:

- On-time product delivery with world class quality

- Design, code, test, automate and debug in JavaScript, core Java and XML using NETCONF/SNMP based frameworks, following DevOps model

- Contribute to definition of Altiplano architecture and design. Collaborate with different stakeholders to determine software & system requirements and to create high level and detailed design materials for the team

- Keep abreast of industry trends in technology for management solutions and software engineering with a view of identifying the right ones for adoption in the group

- Prototype based on cutting edge technologies (OSGi, Microservices, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Python, GraalJS, AngularJS, SDN/NFV etc) to evolve product architecture

- Work with the engineering team towards the realization of the architecture and design in the respective areas of the domain controller

- Mentor and coach a large engineering team distributed across locations for efficient design, high performance and quality

- Effective review of product requirements, code and test designs

- Drive internal process improvements & innovations in software engineering to move the team towards best in class practices. Strengthen the innovation spirit in the group

Qualifications:

Skill Set:

Essential:

Masters/Bachelor Degree in computers/communication/electrical engineering

12+ years of strong experience in development, troubleshooting on the J2EE platform, and architecting software/IT/telecom solutions

Proven results in defining architectures and bringing those solutions to the market

Ability to quickly prototype and validate design approaches

Passion to explore and work on the new technologies

Experience in successfully working with global organizations with strong communication ability, both verbal and written. Strong motivational and technical leadership skills

Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle

Advanced knowledge of IDE\'s, testing frameworks, defect tracking tools, and version control systems

Excellent technical leadership to guide a team and ensure timely and quality deliveries

Desired:

Prior Experience in Network Management Solutions and Access Technologies

Expertise in software engineering practices like DevOps, CI/CD, Agile Methodologies, Continuous Integration, Test Automation, Micro-Services, Xaas models

Expertise in relevant technologies including Java/J2EE, Linux, DBMS, Web Technologies, Cloud & Virtualization, Kubernetes, Containerization, Elasticsearch, JavaScript, Python, GraalJS, AngularJS, SDN/NFV, Data Analytics

Knowledge in next generation management & control plane protocols like NETCONF/YANG, IPFIX, GRPC, etc.

Prior experience in working with multi-site teams
