As a Principal Program Manager, you would be responsible for planning and coordinating with multiple groups to deliver differentiated business value to our customers via enterprise-class product releases at a regular & frequent cadence. A key leadership role within the Engineering organization, the Program Manager is responsible for facilitating deliverables across multiple Scrum teams, adhering to the required criteria for functionality & quality. Key skills

  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles/practices. The ability to blend them together in the right proportions that are best suited to achieve optimal results.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software development projects using Agile principles including 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager managing large, complex projects in a highly tech-savvy environment with multi-functional teams.
  • Prior experience with Scrum and other Agile frameworks with enterprise-level application development projects.
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with at least 50+ team members including Developers and QA personnel.
  • Good level of technical background to provide credible leadership to development teams and to be able to objectively evaluate complex projects/programs.
  • Very effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and facilitating.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Excellent communications skills and experience interacting with both business and other cross-functional stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong ability to multitask, and manage shifting priorities/demands.
  • Knowledge & experience using relevant tools: JIRA, Confluence, EazyBI, G-Suite
Desirable skills
  • Program management experience with products in the areas of Cloud/SaaS (preferred) services, Data protection.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
  • The attitude of empowerment and transparency.
  • Experience in vendor engagement & managing outsourced projects, including relevant processes & documents like MSA, SOW, etc.
  • Agile certification - PMI-ACP, SAFe or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Owns complete planning and delivery of releases at a regular cadence of one or more complex products.
  • Work with product management, cross-functional leads, and stakeholders to define and agree objectives/scope of new programs/releases.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination to plan the dependencies apart from tracking/resolving those. Facilitate Scrum of Scrum to manage dependencies in the program, maintaining focus on the overall objectives.
  • Helps resolve blockers to keep the teams focused on building and delivering value to customers.
  • Interfaces with stakeholders for help, if any, needed for impediments and people issues.
  • Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to implement an effective system of program governance.
  • Assist in planning/defining incremental deliverables.
  • Define and track metrics for measuring the health of product delivery and work with stakeholders to improve these.
  • Periodically radiates information on overall program progress throughout its life cycle.
  • Continuously does risk assessment & identifies mitigation and contingency plans to ensure good predictability.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams for productization or launch aspects such as Legal, Licensing, Documentation, Support etc.
  • Work with other Program Managers and Scrum Masters to further enhance and continuously improve the application of Agile principles and Scrum in the organization.
  • Bridge the gaps in the SDLC process followed in the organization and update the SDLC Framework to reduce risks and ensure program and project investments are realized within their constraints
  • Conduct training sessions across Engineering and cross-functional teams to educate on Agile principles, frameworks, estimation techniques, SDLC, etc.
  • Advocate for modern agile software development and organizational practices, such as XP, CI/CD, DevOps, TDD, etc.
  • Assist in vendor management for outsourcing/contracting projects (identification, selection, negotiation, contract, engagement, onboarding, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in enterprise software development, in which significant (5+) years in Agile program management (preferably in a product-based organization)
