Want to join a team helping enable Alexa as the user interface for the home? As a Principal Product Manager within the Alexa Connect Kit team, you will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge products and services. You will drive product strategy and definition, and collaborate with engineering to develop and launch features. As a leader on the team, you will take on challenging product management opportunities with autonomy and high visibility. You will deliver recommendations to senior executives and drive alignment across levels, functions, and organizations.

This role requires understanding and delighting a wide variety of customers: customers that use Alexa in their homes, companies and brands building and selling smart home products, and hardware component manufacturers. It also requires a deep understanding of the technical stack of smart home products, from the hardware and firmware on the device to the cloud services supporting the device.

Customers already love using Alexa to interact with their homes through natural voice commands and intuitive interfaces. The Smart Home team is evolving Alexa into an intelligent, indispensable companion that helps customers get the most out of the technology in their home. The ideal candidate has a passion for innovating on behalf of customers, solid understanding of the software development process, and a demonstrated track record of delivering new features and products. They value collaboration, data-driven decision making, learning, and can comfortably communicate with others, in both technical and non-technical roles.

Key job responsibilities
\xc2\xb7 Lead the development of the product strategy and vision
\xc2\xb7 Create buy-in for the product vision across the Alexa and Amazon devices organizations
\xc2\xb7 Establish metrics and key performance indicators for success
\xc2\xb7 Develop detailed business requirements, user stories, and product specifications
\xc2\xb7 Create product roadmaps that span multiple engineering teams across a large organization
\xc2\xb7 Evaluating the business opportunity and application of new and emerging technologies

About the team
The Alexa Connect Kit (ACK) is a managed service for device makers that helps makers of unconnected devices create high-quality, Alexa-connected smart home devices quickly easily. ACK combines managed hardware modules with SaaS to simplify IoT development for device makers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor\'s degree
- Experience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authority
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
