JOB TITLE: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER PIPING

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review contract documents and identify requirements and scope of work for project execution. Review specifications, drawings, and other documents as per project.

Identify and quantify total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, finalize format of delivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the work.

Coordinate with Planning & Control on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, to ensure target dates are achieved through review of L3 Schedule and Technical document Register (TDR) engaging VEC.

Implementation of applicable Lesson Learnt throughout the project cycle.

Attending Value Engineering Workshop and leading to successful implementation of Value Engineering points.

Engage Construction, Commissioning & Operation teams for their input & reviews early on projects.

Review Model at own desk regularly & ensure proper Model Review preparation w.r.t. Model Review preparation control sheet & checklist.

Supervise the preparation of conceptual/study layouts and designs and provide necessary inputs for modelling and drafting.

Supervise the stress analysis of piping systems. Monitor the transfer of piping loads to Civil, coordinate on technical issues as required.

Obtain the required inputs from other engineering disciplines e.g., mechanical data sheets, foundation and structure details, instrument specifications and other necessary data.

Monitor the preparation and issue of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-disciplinary Design Checks (IDC\xe2\x80\x99s). Review and integrate comments and inputs of other engineering disciplines into the relevant documents.

Supervise the preparation and issue of Inquiry Requisitions to vendors. Participate in technical bid evaluations. Review vendor drawings, documents, and design calculations. Ensure vendor equipment specifications meet with client equipment specifications and within budgeted costs.

Coordinate Material Take-off (MTO) activities, identify irregularities, discrepancies and shortfalls and take corrective action as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 10 plus years related oil & gas/petrochemical experience preferable from a background in working for EPC/consultancy organizations.

In-depth Knowledge of International Codes & Standards with specific expertise is ASME B 31.3.

In depth Knowledge of International Codes & Standards pertaining to Equipment Layout / Safety Distances for Equipment.

Experience in Design & Execution of Non-Metallic Piping Systems like GRE/HDPE.

Experience in EPC of Oil & Gas Plants / Refinery / New Energy / Petrochemical / Mining Plant Design & Layout. Experience in Brown Field Execution / FEED Engineering / Vendor Packages / Layout Study / Statutory Requirements / EPC of Oil & Gas Plants / Refinery / New Energy / Petrochemical / Mining Plant Design & Layout / Iso Planning, Checking & Revision Control / Bulk Take-off & Quantity Control / Area Close out / Proposal Engineering / Offshore Piping.

Basic Knowledge & Understanding of Stress Analysis of Piping systems.

Preferred Software Experience:

E3D, PDMS (Exposure)

Navisworks Simulate (Proficient)

AutoCAD (Proficient)

CEASAR-II (Basic)

Office Tools (Proficient)
