Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently looking for a Principal Engineer - Piping to be part of the Engineering team, based at our Kolkata Office. This is highly strategic role within the department and the ideal candidate will be at Principal or Lead level in their career. Extensive years of experience within the industry in a similar role and provide strong leadership and technical expertise preferred.

• 
  Handle large complicated area as Area Lead on a large capital project with hands on expertise in concerned software
• Perform as a Lead Engineer for small capital projects
• Develop and check of 3D models for complex commodities like Towers, Columns, Reactors, Air Fin Coolers, and Compressors etc.
• Responsible for vendor document review and provide comments per scope definition
• Check design deliverables produced by Sr. Engineers
• Ensure correctness of the document based on established procedures / standards
• As project lead, responsible for quality of the piping deliverables, man-hour & schedule
• Develop specifications and standards for relevant discipline based on project requirements
• Participate in scope definition during bid / project execution stage
• Participate in estimation of man-hours / MTO during bid stage
• Plan and schedule manpower while functioning as an Area Lead / Lead
• Participate in design review sessions
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure complete and correct information flow required for design execution
• Participate in development of work instructions and procedures for the discipline

Skills / Qualifications:

• B.E. / B. Tech (Mechanical) / (Chemical) preferred from reputed institution
• 12+ years in Piping Layout Design with about 2 years in supervisory / lead position
• Knowledge of PDS / PDMS / E3D, S3D Navisworks & SPR is a must
• Knowledge of Piping Codes like ASME B 31.3 is a must
• Knowledge of Flexibility Analysis and Piping Material Engineering is required
• Should be able to finalize support requirement for all non-critical lines without input from stress
• Knowledge of 3D software like CADWorx / Autoplant / Open Plant is added advantage
• Should be able to drive model review session
• Should have good knowledge of inter discipline interactions and coordination
• Should be a good team player with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skill
• Refinery / Petrochemical / Chemical / Oil & Gas (preferred) / Power
