About Team:

The Portfolio Management team forms part of the Business Management division in Swiss Re together with other units including Technical Accounting, Actuarial Management and Claims. The team has interdependent relationships with other units within the L&H Business Management division and is required to foster a strong team culture in order to drive delivery of the overall divisional mandate.

The mandate of the Portfolio Management team is to monitor, protect and maximize the shareholder value extracted from the in-force L&H portfolio across its six markets in Asia: China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Taiwan and India.

This role will be working closely with market portfolio owners, as well as other teams within Division Asia\'s L&H Community, including Pricing, Finance, Transactions and Client markets.

Position objectives and position summary:

  • Targeted in-force treaty reviews and experience analysis
  • Reprice of reviewable rate treaties
  • Valuation for recapture purposes
  • Scenario analysis and quantitative assessment of EVM and USGAAP/IFRS financial impacts
  • In-force initiatives to make business portfolio healthier.
  • Support in the analysis for market Portfolio Review Groups / Operational Groups
  • To apply technical knowledge and process skills to tackle problems and develop solutions
About You:
  • Advanced actuarial student with good exam progress.
  • Around 3+ years of experience in reinsurance, life, or health insurance products
  • Experience with market consistent valuation and/or USGAAP/IFRS an advantage
  • Ability to work and judge independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good business and financial acuity
  • Work with teams across various locations
