One of the most dynamic of these is Qualcomm\xe2\x80\x99s Automotive business line, comprising In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI), the Digital Cockpit, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Autonomous Driving (AD). Our Automotive Platform Architect role offers qualified candidates the opportunity to broadly influence the development of the SoC architecture for this fast-growing business.

Skills/Experience Summary:

- Bachelor of Science degree in EE/ECE/CE/CS or related field required; MS or PhD is an advantage

- Automotive SoC architecture & automotive platform experience is an advantage

Description:

A successful candidate will engage collaboratively across Qualcomm\xe2\x80\x99s core SoC Hardware, Software, Product Management teams, and with the Automotive Business Unit to develop scalable and reusable SoC architecture & features enabling efficient development of market-leading SoC products for the Automotive business line. The candidate will have the opportunity to understand the long term SoC architecture needs and roadmap for Automotive SoCs providing for In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI), the Digital Cockpit, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Autonomous Driving (AD). This role will be in a highly visible position with an excellent opportunity to influence Qualcomm\'s technical direction, transform the Automotive SoC industry, and change the world!

Possible assignments depending on need, experience, and skills:

- Create high level architecture specifications as required to enable core and SoC engineering teams to design, verify, test, and productize SoCs for the Automotive IVI, Digital Cockpit, and AD/ADAS markets.

- Design experiments and analyses to answer architectural questions, and invent, develop, or drive the development of simulators, models, profilers, and other methods and tools as necessary to execute the analyses.

- Communicate results and technical concepts clearly and credibly across audiences ranging from individual unit hardware or software engineers to architecture community peers, to high level business executives.

- Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Work Experience

-10+ years work experience in the SoC HW VLSI design/validation domains of which at least 7 years on SoC Architecture

- 5+ years SoC Architecture, System Architecture, Systems Engineering, or related work experience

Preferred Qualifications :

Master degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering

Areas of Expertise (the more the better):

  • Candidates should have expertise in multiple of the following areas:
  • SoC / Computer Architecture
  • Power and/or performance analysis, simulation, and modeling
  • Software engineering & programming skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, Perl)
  • Digital hardware design and/or verification
  • Deep understanding on Auto use cases and mapping them to HW and SW
  • Awareness of automotive technologies including
  • In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI), Digital Cockpit
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
  • Autonomous Driving (AD) architecture
  • Safety management and functional safety architecture
  • Automotive standards and protocols (e.g., ASIL, AUTOSAR, NCAP, ISO26262)
  • Security architecture & standards (e.g., TrustZone, OSEK, SAE J3601, ISO21434)
  • Operating Systems (e.g., Linux)
  • Real-time Systems (e.g., Linux-RT, QNX, RTOS)
  • Arm CPU architecture (e.g., Cortex-A, Cortex-R)
  • Microcontroller (MCUs) and electronic control unit (ECUs) architecture
  • Gateways & Networking (e.g., Ethernet, CAN, LIN)
  • Memory architecture (e.g., LPDDRx)
  • Storage architecture (e.g., NANDFlash, NORFlash, SPI)
  • Machine Learning (e.g., CNNs, Computer Vision)
Minimum Qualifications: OR
Master\'s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
