Job Description

:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Overall responsibility for piping routing for various piping systems essential for power boilers (supercritical).
• Understanding of P&ID. Interaction with process engineer for process data, etc.
• Clash check / review using SPR. Generating clash check report.
• Providing input to stress analysis team. Interaction with stress analysis team for optimization of routing with sufficient flexibility and support feasibility for an optimized routing.
• 3D Modeling of critical piping, Boiler auxiliary piping systems & its supports as per stress analysis output.
• Isometrics extraction. Manual updation of isometrics using Auto CAD / 2D Microstation.
• Preparation BOQ, release of isometrics with Material Request, etc.
• Selection of spring hanger, snubber, strut, etc.
• Vendor coordination & interface resolution.
• Preparation of spring hangers / rigid hangers, struts, snubbers MR.
• Review of pipe support and hanger fabrication drawings.
• Pre-bid technical evaluation for spring hangers / rigid hangers, struts, snubbers offer
• Review of vendor drawings for spring hangers / rigid hangers, struts, snubbers, etc.
• Inter discipline coordination & interface resolution.

• A sound knowledge of SP3D piping modeling.
• Capable of working with AutoCAD / 2D Microstation.
• A sound knowledge of Microsoft excel / words, etc.
• Capable of reviewing Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) for supercritical power boilers
• Basic knowledge in power plant supercritical boiler.
• Experience in routing of pipes for Power Plant Application is considered as an added advantage
• Sound knowledge of Code ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, EN 13497, MSS SP58, 69 & 89.
• Capable of steel frame sizing calculations..
• Pipe attachment strength calculations like Trunions, Lugs etc

• Must be Degree/Diploma in Mechanical from reputed institute.
• Ideally 5+ years of experience in piping & support modeling in power boiler industry.
