About our Team

Finance Accounting Systems group works closely with Finance and accounting organisations to build applications and solutions to enable critical Financial processes at Uber. We use industry best practices in Financial and Accounting systems, applying them to complex global business operations at Uber.


Our team is on the critical path to enabling Uber to become a world-class business operation. Our engineers build, automate, maintain, and innovate in financial accounting processes for Uber. The team uses a balanced mix of vendor and open source tools to deliver ground breaking solutions for optimizing the workflows and automating the processes.

About the role

The scope of this role is to be a voice of technology, crafting complex financial systems/applications, to help Uber grow in closing financial books as early as possible with accuracy. You will also mentor junior engineers in their design and deliverables.


The products we build in finance directly or indirectly impact Uber drivers, riders, and employees. You will have a tremendous opportunity to help us solve the many challenges we have in meeting our goal

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the product managers in FinTech to develop the products for solving business needs. We use Oracle PL/SQL, Java, APEX, Unix Shell Scripting, Golang, SQL, etc.
• Improve the products in the FinTech portfolio and provide outstanding support of your products
• Develop integrations with third party products as part of the implementation
• Collaborate within and outside of the teams on team deliverables and goals
• Demonstrate technical expertise and thought leadership in your architecture, design. Preparing and presenting Tech Design documents.
• Build systems that are scalable, reliable and reusable
• Anticipate future challenges, support the company\'s rapid growth, identify opportunities to automate and make sure for smooth financial close.

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of overall experience with preferably 3+ years working in a product-based company
• Work experience in Oracle Applications(R12), PLSQL & Complex System Integrations is a must.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to handle complex process and technology issues
• Design, develop, integrate and support corporate applications like Oracle ERP and related integrations.
• A consistent record of solving sophisticated problems around Corporate and financial Application Space

Technical Qualifications

• Hands-on experience using Oracle Cloud
• Oracle APEX development
• Java/Golang
• Oracle Database performance and tuning knowledge is required.
• Solid understanding of Oracle financial accounting modules and methods
