Role Summary

We seek a highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated Network Security Engineer with a strong networking security background, and firewall expertise, who will join our dynamic Global Network team in a technically challenging role. As a Network Security Engineer, you will ensure the highest standard of Firewall implementations and maintain large-scale complex networks; you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network security infrastructure of our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and availability of our network systems by managing and optimizing our firewall solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a deep knowledge of network security concepts, hands-on experience with firewall technologies, and a solid commitment to maintaining a secure and robust network environment. This role offers continuous learning opportunities in a supportive and diverse environment. On-call duties, Incident response, and occasional global travel will be integral to the position. While relevant industry experience is valued, demonstrated abilities and a positive attitude are equally important. This is a full-time role based in Ahmedabad, India. What You Will Do:

• Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, primarily focusing on firewalls, to protect the organization\'s network infrastructure from unauthorized access and cyber threats and employ automation processes whenever feasible.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and Development teams to participate in early access trials of Sophos products, providing valuable feedback and actively engaging in dogfooding internally within our organization to gain first experience; share insights to enhance product functionality and serve as a liaison between teams, contributing to discussions on enhancements and ensuring timely issue resolution. Maintain a proactive mindset, advocating for customers and improving the user experience of Sophos products.
• Provide day-to-day support for the existing Sophos firewall infrastructure, including eventual on-call responsibilities. Focus on Firewalls, performing configuration tasks and upgrades, and serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of firewall configurations to ensure adherence to security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Monitor network traffic and security logs to identify and respond to potential security incidents or vulnerabilities.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software upgrades, patch management, and system backups for firewalls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security issues, working closely with internal teams and external vendors if required.
• Research and stay up to date with the latest network security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends, and proactively recommend security enhancements or updates to maintain a strong security posture.
• Contribute to developing and improving network security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network security configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Familiar with operations support tools such as various monitoring platforms and IP address management tools, ServiceNow Ticketing system and JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Adhere to established change, incident, and problem management processes.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive environment, actively sharing knowledge and expertise with team members.

What you Will Bring :

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Prior experience with Sophos Firewall or Sophos Firewall Certifications
• Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CEH, CISM, Checkpoint Certified Administrator (CCSA), Checkpoint Certified Security Expert (CCSE), Palo Alto Networks Certified (PCNSE), or Palo Alto ACE (Accredited Configuration Engineer). Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, FTP, SSL/TLS, and IPsec in a business environment
• Possess a strong ability to understand and analyze network packets using tools like tcpdump and Wireshark or other packet analyzers and vulnerability scanners.
• Proven experience working as a Firewall Engineer or Network Security Engineer or in a similar role, with in-depth knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
• Working knowledge of network and security aspects of LAN, WAN, and Cloud Infrastructure in AWS/Azure, including Security Groups, VPC Peering, Direct Connect, and NAT.
• Expertise in designing, deploying, managing, troubleshooting, and monitoring security solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve network security incidents or vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with ITIL concepts and working in a process-driven environment using agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated understanding of the system you are working on, ability to devise solutions, and create presentations that the team and network management can consume.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
• Willingness to take ownership of incidents, resolve them, and implement automation to prevent future incidents.
• Highly self-motivated and proactive. Positive attitude, adaptability, solid commitment to excellence, continuous learning mindset, and up-to-date with the latest network security and automation advancements.
