How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to the Custom Solutions Delivery senior manager as a Network Analyst, you will be responsible for the generation, presentation, and documentation network data analyses with the goal of assisting Ciena\xe2\x80\x99s customers in their day-to-day operation and their network transformation projects.

• You will partner with customers and other stakeholders to understand the customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs, datasets, and objectives and how Ciena can best support their transformation journey.
• You will develop analyses, reports, and visualizations to drive the customer outcomes.
• You will work closely with colleagues of various skillsets to generate those analyses, reports, and visualizations.
• You will prepare technical documentation, present, and coherently relay the information to the customer.
• You will provide weekly updates to varying internal and external contract stakeholders, including Ciena PM\xe2\x80\x99s. From time to time, you will join customer pre-sales calls and share knowledge/expertise.

The Must Haves:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or similar technical field of study or experience in related field in lieu of a degree.
• Detailed understanding of SONET, DWDM, ROADM (and other (n)OADM configurations) architecture and provisioning and implementation.
• Knowledge and experience with Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2.
• Understanding of Carrier Ethernet architecture and provisioning and implementation.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Must be ready to work in a very collaborative yet remote environment, with colleagues and customers in different time zones.

Assets:

• Knowledge and experience with databases, more specifically graph database (neo4j) is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as python is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience of internet service provider operation and planning processes is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with internet service providers systems (NMS, IMS, BPMS) is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience on the data visualization software Tableau is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience with graphical data analytics software (such as Lavastorm, Data360) is a plus.
