Broad outline of the Role

• The position will be both challenging and rewarding while offering the individual flexibility to work on several different IP network projects in the realms of Network infrastructure Planning & Design, Optimization and Evolution. The ability to multitask on several initiatives and capable of working with cross-functional teams, assessing project details, requirements, risks. Provides Assistance to Leads across multiple projects with minor, major or complex issues. A person shall exercise actions within a project and technical support on various network environments across the globe.

Purpose - Broad objective of the role

Minimum qualification & experience

• BS/MS/BE/BTECH in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is desirable.
• 7-10 Years of working in Telecommunications or IT engineering roles.

Other knowledge/skills

• Strong Consultancy, Design, Implementation and Migration, customer handling exposure, ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately.
• Extensive experience in a technical role including strong experience supporting large SP networks and Voice solutions.
• Should have worked on Routing, Switching, Juniper MX/SRX platform, ASR/IOS-XR.
• Experience in preparing High Level Design & Low-level Design documents.
• Excellent and deep hands-on and planning capabilities in TCP/IP, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, IPSEC, GRE, Traffic Engineering, IGP, BGP, Internet peering/exchanges, Nexus VPC peering.
• Strong knowledge of IP-related protocols including IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, QOS solutions, and IPv4/ IPv6 standards/protocols.
• Experience in IP MPLS technology including VRFs, L2/L3 VPNs, understanding of MP-BGP architecture etc.
• Strong knowledge in Service Provider background.
• Hands-on experience with network services (DHCP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP, DNS, NTP).
• Strong hands-on experience on Cisco IOS, IOS-XR & JunOS CLI.
• Experience on different firewalls like Cisco, Juniper SRX, Fortinet.
• Must have Design/Architecture & Implementation experience in large networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing High Level Design & Low-level Design documents.
• Assist with Network solutions across the lab and production environments.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on environments and cloud computing partners.
• Perform testing routinely. system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance while performing and testing routinely.
• Test and Validate software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations.
• Assist in Lead Architect documentation and diagrams.
• Assist in Lead Architect with evaluations and vendor proof of concept (PoC) testing.
• Assist in Lead Architect in road map, product life cycles, critical production support.
• Analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions & their frameworks.

Technical Competencies

• Advanced understanding of networking systems and TCP/IP. Strong knowledge of Cisco, Juniper & other vendor hardware platforms.
• Experience in preparing High Level Design & Low-level Design documents.
• Excellent and deep hands-on and planning capabilities in TCP/IP, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, IPSEC, GRE, Traffic Engineering, IGP, BGP, Internet peering/exchanges, Nexus VPC peering.
• Strong knowledge of IP-related protocols including IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, QOS solutions, and IPv4/ IPv6 standards/protocols.
• Experience in IP MPLS technology including VRFs, L2/L3 VPNs, understanding of MP-BGP architecture etc.
• Experience with network technologies, topologies, IP addressing, V-LANs, Firewalls, etc.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco/Juniper Routing, switching, understanding of different Routing Protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, BGP) and Redundancy Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLRP) to include experience troubleshooting issues with these protocols. Different firewall (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), F5 Load balancer etc.
• Experience in IP MPLS technology including VRFs, L2/L3 VPNs, understanding of MP-BGP architecture etc.
• Understanding of networking concepts, (IE. Configuration of networks, router configuration and wireless security, TCP/IP, VPN, Content Filtering, VLANs and routing in LAN/WAN.
• Hands-on experience on Cisco IOS-XR & Juniper JunOS devices will be a plus.
• Experience or General Understanding in mobile, voice, video and message services a Plus but not necessarily.
• Ability to execute a Plan and action items on key Projects or POC
• MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, etc.
• Excellent communication and customer presentation skills
• Ability to recognize, analyses, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using industry best practices and procedures.
• Functions as the expert in networking experience as well as LAN/WAN optimization experience.
• Resolve hardware, operational, infrastructure within services platform switch and routing infrastructure.

Preferred Certifications:

• JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE/CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or other equivalent.
