Learn more at www.terviva.com Job Overview To create, manage and oversee the quality management & quality assurance system for procurement, storage processing of pongamia beans and the resultant products of oil, meal & other products to ensure food safety, GMP, regulatory compliance. Advancing quality achievement and performance improvement in the India operations. To maintain and improve quality to developing our Terviva brand. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Quality Assurance: Creating the Quality Assurance & Quality Control strategy for Food manufacturing for Terviva India in consultation with Terviva USA & other customers of Terviva. Creating & executing in-house quality procedures for bean procurement, processing, supply and export. Development of quality enhancement programs for bean gatherers/suppliers/ partners in order to achieve consistent quality, reliability in supply (continuity), in the context of forest/ environmental sensitivities. Setting standards for GMP, Food Safety as per FSSAI & UDFDA & Quality, health and safety. Provide Quality Control management services for pre- and post-shipment sampling to ensure consistency of raw material quality to meet TerViva’s standards Organizing bean quality education meetings for bean gatherers, supply partners and TerViva employees. Ensuring that produce (bean, oil and meal cake) comply with standards at international level/export quality. Specifying quality requirements of fresh pongamia pods and beans with the farmers and physical quality testing of seeds. Working with operating staff to establish procedures, standards and systems. Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are met by setting customer service standard. Requirements, Education and Experience Designing incoming inspection processes are performed as defined by engineering team for the respective parts and material. Approve in-process production by confirming required specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating the required adjustments to the production supervisor Collaborating with interfacing departments like Purchase, Manufacturing, R&D and take corrective and preventive actions to avoid repetitive failures and for overall improvement of quality. Setting product recall system for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work Ensures that all non-confirmed/Rejected products are segregated. Facilitate the reporting of bean testing/purity results and report findings. Prepare and communicate QC audit update weekly/monthly to product and commercialization team. Manage 3rd party inspection team at multiple locations. Establishing quality control checks at the field and on TerViva’s internal and customer specifications. Ensuring equipment, tools and fixtures required for Incoming inspection are in order and calibrated. Ensure all feedstocks/ raw materials purchased are within the agreed specifications. Work alongside the Procurement Leads and Procurement Supervisors to set up appropriate SOPs to manage quality for procurement. Monitor harvesting samples collected from bean gatherers/ suppliers/ processors against standards. Working at Terviva offers you:
