The Role

We are actively interviewing candidates for our Manager, Quality Assurance IC role. This role will ideally be based in Bangalore, India.

About You

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage a team of software quality engineers to test a rapidly developed cloud service
• Together with product management understand Azul analytic software, its features and requirements, determine acceptance criteria
• Actively participate in actual quality engineering, contributing to codes, configurations, documentation, test runs and evaluation
• Plan activities for efficient analysis, manual testing and test automation
• Together with other managers and leads understand a niche and mission of your team
• Develop quality standards and take responsibility for testing approaches
• Establish full-cycle process, including analysis, understanding types of testing required, building test plans, conducting regular and CI test runs, results evaluation and issue tracking
• Provide the team with leadership and people management
• Either provide or conduct technical leadership and architectural governance for the team and its assets
• Identify hiring needs, and act as a technical hiring manager
• Provide the team and organization with planning, reporting and integration to the bigger team and organization

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering or software quality assurance
• Hands-on or recent experience with testing and quality automation of cloud or web software
• Solid knowledge in SDLC, Agile, TDD, test management, quality automation, CI/CD
• A record of leading or managing software or quality engineers
• Understanding fundamentals of networking, web, HTTP, REST
• Acquaintance with web or cloud software performance, security and availability
• Knowledge and experience in both functional and non-functional testing
• At least some knowledge of java programming language and java software eco-system
• Understanding source code control principles
• Erudition and experience in software engineering, quality assurance, processes automation, cloud computing, modern team leadership

Desired Experience

• Hands-on programming experience, scripting and ad hoc automation skills
• Good knowledge of application security, acquaintance with security platforms such as OWASP, CVE, NVD
• All kinds of experience with opensource java software
