Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group\'s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk , Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management. There are primarily four job families in GAC: Decision Sciences, Information Management, Business Consulting and MI Reporting. This role applies to the Information Management job family within the Analytics function supporting various businesses and functions. Global Business/Global Function: Global Risk is a very dynamic global function with HSBC which works very closely with all the global businesses & other global functions in managing the top & emerging risks for the Bank. Global Risk has many sub-functions like Wholesale & Market Risk, Retail Credit Risk, Operational Risk, CRO & Administration etc. which are critical for the Bank for driving Risk monitoring and governance effectively. Effective management of financial and non-financial risks requires diverse information from a variety of sources, for example, risk reports, risk and control profiles, operational risk incidents, key risk indicators, risk heat maps, and rules and definitions for regulatory capital and economic capital reporting. Executive-level dashboard and reports provide visibility into the risk analysis, highlighting key risk metrics and policy compliance. Global Business/Global Function - Sub-Function: WMR The Wholesale Credit and Market Risk (WMR) department within the Group Risk measures and monitors globally credit and market risks arising from trading activity as well as credit approval for large corporate, financial institution and sovereign exposures. The Org. has setup a Global data organization structure in recognition of the importance of effective data acquisition, management and usage in the achievement of its global business strategy. The Global data organization is also responsible for coordinating compliance with the FIM Data Policy and key data related regulations such as BCBS. The Global data organization includes the Chief Data Officers in each Global Business and Global Function, and WMR has set up a data programme and organization as part of the Group\'s activities in this area. The role forms a part of the WMR and will help improve all aspects of data governance, quality and management in WMR. The role will interface with key stakeholders within WMR, in Group Risk as well as Global businesses including GBM and CMB, as well as Finance to implement sound data management activities in support of complex and evolving data requirements for WMR. This role reports into the lead VP - WMR Data Management Team What you\'ll do: interaction with a number of senior stakeholders across Risk, GBM and CMB in addition to Risk IT. The incumbent is expected to familiarize themselves with the complex systems, architecture and data flow landscape and to identify opportunities for improvement in management of data within this environment Job Overview Ensure Wholesale Credit Risk function is compliant with Data Management (D.MAN) principles and other regulations including BCBS239, etc Globally Perform Data governance and Data quality management tasks across WMR function Data Governance: Identification of critical data across credit risk related process for key reports and on-board them into Collibra (HBIM Data dictionary) globally. Coordinate with regional Credit risk teams to ensure all the regional processes are aligned globally and data governance activities are implemented across all region Attestation of CDEs annually to make sure they are aligned to DMAN & FIM polices. Coordinate and lead Data Governance related activities with Group Data Management team, to make sure the dashboard reflects right data. Working with DQ team, to make sure all the CDEs are stitched to DQ controls and dashboards are accurate at all times Ensure trusted sources are identified and registered for all the credit risk processes. Co-ordinate this effort with ITSO and Business process owners Reviewing lineage annually to make sure they are complained to FIM polices and getting sign-off from all region stakeholders. Data Quality: Analysis of existing controls as well as analysis of all new credit risk consumer requirements for further consumer controls Design of the controls based on data lineage and analysis that meets the regulatory standards like BCBS 239 Co-ordination of login, testing and remediation of any issues identified controls breaks Ensure efficient handover to the BAU team to ensure ongoing support of the control breaks and issues Support development enterprise data quality monitor and remediation system Coordinate with right people/team and lead Data Quality related activities to make sure the dashboard reflects right data Also Understanding of BCBS 239 Compliance Standards i.e., Reporting & Data standards, and requires implementing, evidencing and validating BCBS239 compliance across the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) by co-ordinating with various teams/sites. Working with Data policy team to make sure, we are complaint with FIM framework, gathering and documentation of evidence annually. Engage with FO, ITSO, Global Finance team on various projects. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Eligibility Criteria - Masters in engineering or business Management Minimum 4-5 years of Business Leadership Experience focused primarily in the Financial Services & Risk tools Experience in running Global Offshore R&A team and a proven track record in establishing a high performance and efficient Data & Information Management unit. Experience in driving and large scale change and transformation Program Experience with a Consulting organization and practices and Program/Project Management Client/Account Management experience and/or P&L Management Experience is a plus Knowledge of in any one or combination of advanced BI and Data tools e.g. QLIK, Tableau, SQL, Oracle etc. Strong track record of managing and leading teams Exceptionally strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships Ability to think creatively to drive innovative solutions Ability to build connections and work collaboratively across boundaries Strong communication skills, in particular the ability to produce high quality reports which are articulate and effectively deliver the right message to the recipients Functional requirements - Good knowledge of the risk management processes and systems Understanding of concepts of credit risk such as EAD, LGD, CRR, Value at Risk and RWA Prior experience in data management, regulatory reporting and BCBS 239 project is a plus Good understanding of Credit Risk & Customer reference data systems Techno functional experience business transformation is preferred A flexible and adaptable approach to change and ability to support others to respond in a similar way Proficient at business analysis - be able to make sense of large data sets & connect, manipulate, join, use them for analysis. Soft Skills requirements Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and develop end to end solutions. Collaborate with partners across business groups, evaluate emerging techniques that may contribute to existing analytical capabilities and computational models Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success. Maintain the level of communication/interaction across the team and direct manager including onshore business partners Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is advantageous.
