This role has to support country/regional/LOB Risk Stewards in their stewardship responsibilities by reviewing RC/FC/Non-Financial risk data and provide recommendations to bridge gaps and enhance overall stewardship framework across organization What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Do? Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas

  • To support 2LOD stakeholders in stewardship tasks across activities like Trigger Event, Continuous Monitoring Plans, Issue Read across, PTG\xe2\x80\x99s, RCA reviews
  • To proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across all RC /FC categories and interface appropriately with other RC/FC teams and senior management;
  • To pro-actively work with the Business and Stakeholders to enhance policies and procedures as required;
  • To provide innovative and effective solutions to problem statements based on SME knowledge that assist the Business / Function.

  • Accurate, timely execution and delivery of assigned Stewardship tasks as per PLA/SLA.
  • Meeting agreed deadlines and targets for any task assigned.
  • Quality of the output shared with Stakeholders to be of highest standards.
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of improvements through continuous communication across 3LOD Stakeholders.
  • Escalate key stakeholder issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide recommendations and Guidance to stakeholders around Risk, control, Issue and Action profiles end to end to improve risk management.
  • Oversight on Risk Steward Support Generic mailbox and mails to be actioned and responded promptly.

Teamwork
  • Effective collaboration across the HSBC Group including the RC senior leadership team, Group RC, Global Operational Risk (Op Risk), Assurance Function, GLoBs and across all Regions to support compliance stewardship task.
  • Constructive feedback of team members while collaborating with them in process of achieving stewardship objectives.
  • Assist in creating & maintaining an environment within the team which fosters free sharing of knowledge & ideas
  • Developing soft skills and technical competency for self

  • Identification and management of FC/RC risks (internal and external), the gathering and analysis of FC/RC risk data from across the Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) to provide recommendations to bridge gaps across Risk, control, Issues and Action profiles to ensure that FC/RC risk is being managed within Risk Appetite to embed risk stewardship effectively across the regions/line of business.
  • Deliver products that support the risk stewardship model and promote an active risk management culture within Compliance function
  • Implementation of tracking and oversight protocols to ensure stewardship recommendations are being shared on time, actioned where required
  • Identify re-engineering, Automation processes alignment opportunities across processes/systems to improve efficiency, in turn reducing lead time, improve consistency/quality/ cost saves.

Requirements
What will you need to succeed in this role? Skills, Abilities and Experience required:
  • Minimum of 6-8 Years experience in Banking/Financial Institution/Risk management/Compliance roles
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of: Non Financial Risk Management and Operational Risk Management Framework
  • Risk Frameworks \xe2\x80\x93 An understanding of the concepts supporting a risk management framework, the lines of defence and how they interact and how a risk profile is established, with key risks identified and appropriate controls mapped. Knowledge of how a risk profile can be challenged and remediation activities tracked
  • Regulatory Risks \xe2\x80\x93 Knowledge of the wider regulatory environment and some idea of the likely regulatory risks and upcoming changes that are mostly likely to impact HSBC and which areas of our business are likely to be most affected. Knowledge and understanding of the global regulatory environment and key compliance risk trends as well as practitioner-level knowledge of regulatory obligations in multiple jurisdictions;
  • Business Processes \xe2\x80\x93 Candidates should have an overall understanding of the different types business of HSBC and the types of products offered by each and how these businesses are supported by middle and back offices
  • Analytical Skills \xe2\x80\x93 The candidates must be able to understand huge risk data, compare information from across the three lines of defence and reach a conclusion, identifying anomalies and where further input required. This includes both strong verbal and numerical analysis, as successful applicants will have to use numerical comparison and close reading of rationales to reach suitable conclusions, provide professional recommendations to bridge gaps across risk, control and Issue profile.
  • Stakeholder Engagement \xe2\x80\x93 Candidates must feel confident engaging with senior stakeholders directly, including 1LoD and 2LoD stakeholders. Candidates must be able to build effective working relationships and provide robust challenge and feedback where necessary without compromising those relationships
  • Report Writing & Drafting skills \xe2\x80\x93 Candidates must be able to summarise large amounts of complex data into clear and comprehensive reports that can be readily understood by a senior audience. Candidates must be able to meet challenging deadlines to produce such reports.Must have ability to draft recommendations in clear, concise and professional manner to convey the stewardship analyis output to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Projects and change management experience
  • To support decisions with sound reasoning, clearly articulate the case for risk management, policy,the business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings
  • As a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time and with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and excellent communication, dealing with senior executives.
  • Sound judgment, problem solving skills, ability to think laterally , need to have level of autonomy to work in ambiguity environment
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
